Pretty clear teams are going to blitz the house against us to try and rattle Burrow. Texas did it. Vandy tried it. Florida and Auburn have the defensive fronts to try it.

Again, many of the things we are seeing this year were absolutely there last year.
Brady deserves some credit obviously, but this was not a complete overhaul. We simply went all in on the things Burrow was doing well already, shotgun, tempo, quick reads and throws to help solve protection issues, instead of trying to maintain “balance”, which O harped on repeatedly last year (we’ll see if that is sustainable against the SEC slate).
The execution has been night and day better though, mostly from the WRs, which is probably just as significant a contribution from Brady as any schematic changes.
But Burrow’s comfort level is the main driving force behind what we’ve seen. That is a credit to the foundation laid by E, not some completely new playbook, which could have the opposite effect, and also to Brady for working with E to add creative wrinkles within the structure that was already in place.
Both coaches deserve credit, Burrow just deserves more. He is a once in a blue moon player and we will all miss him greatly when his time in the purple and gold is over

Against 3 defenses ranked higher than 85th....that average will go up against quality SEC, but should still be operating at high efficiency. Just an example of stats not telling the full story!!!

Joe's dad said that E had video of the Spread/RPO prepared to show them what the LSU offense was slated to become. Joe's dad said THAT sealed the deal.
I doubt the Burrow's are sweating the fact that it took a little over a year to put all the pieces together.
This is a team game, right? Plenty of credit to go around.

quote:the communication is evidently, actually- obviously, excellent. From those two guys in the booth (between themselves) all the way down to the signalers on the sideline to Burrow.
There were some people asking how the E/BRady play calling was gonna work, but its clear we aren't having any communication issues.
I had theorized on the dynamic between E and Brady a while back. I think now it looks more like Brady is the designer while E is the caller. An analogy is Brady is the architect, E is the construction sup.

Coach O isn’t intimidated by anyone, but he sure tried to make it appear that way.
