Let me just save Bisonduck et al the trouble. CK blah blah blah vision for the team, that will never happen again. Best team in ages. The backups pushed the starters and really should have started. They all now run 4.1 40s at every position. The team goes 85 deep only because we don't want to play walk-ons. Kenjon Barner and LMJ are like hybrids of Ironhead Craig Hayward, Thurmon Thomas, Barry Sanders, Herschel Walker, and Bo Jackson. Our receivers are inexperienced by so were Randy Moss, Calvin Johnson, and Larry Fitzgerald at one time. Oregon is like a better '72 Dolphins

There was not one shred of objectivity in his blog. He didn't come close to providing any measurable analysis.

He just beat his chest and crowed (ducked?) some homer BS about how big and bad they are.

He doesn't know $hit from Shinola. He referenced their game with UCLA. Last I checked, the Bruins suck as badly as Tulane and could fire Neuheisel after he lays another egg this year.

Under Miles LSU plays really well with lots of prep time and fresh legs. I know last year we let UNC comeback in 2nd half but that was a fluke IMO. If Oregon doesn't jump us early and we hit their speed guys hard a few times LSU could dominate this game. It is more likely the ducks will be intimidated by our SIZE and SPEED than LSU will be with the ducks speed.

I don't care who you are - that's funny right there.

I'm thinking "quacked" is the word you're looking for.

They might break tackles, but the Ducks are not outrunning LSU.

You do realize the SIZE deal is becoming moot, right? Oregon's DT rotation is 321, 300, 286, 285 vs. 310, 306, 287, 287 (favors Oregon), our SDE rotation is 265/283 and your is 255/265, our WDE is 240/240 and yours 245/240. Our dline is actually bigger than yours. You guys will actually be playing the 4-2-5 a lot against us with a 212 MLB. So, please, explain this to me.

I'm not reading all of this shite but I KNOW most Oregon fans can't be stupid enough to think they are going to hang 40 on LSU

Reality will set in soon enough - I think some LSU fans may be undersestimating what Oregon can do, offensively. That fact alone could make this game very interesting, despite the fact I think the teams are not really comparable, talent-wise.

Oregon is a system team, not a fundamentally outstanding team by SEC standards. That statement is not an insult, but a compliment. Kelly did a superb job last year and the Ducks earned more respect from the SEC in the loss to Auburn than in all the regular season gaudy wins. Oregon does have a handful of skill position players that are rightfully called some of the best in the country. However, on any given Saturday, LSU *should* be 2 touchdowns better, in the 38-24 range. The amount of prep time works both to LSU's advantage (historically, under Miles) and to Oregon's disadvantage.

However, we play the game on the field, not on paper. I still like LSU, but I think it's going to be messy, ugly and more in the range of 31-26, either way. Either team breaks 35, I will be shocked. Oregon scores less than 3 touchdowns, I will be shocked, so that's just how I see it playing out.

That seems about right. How would your projection change if LSU some how, some way against all odds comes up with a rushing performance on the order of what Stanford did in '09? Or is your prediction assuming such a performance and a terrible passing game?

That's a pretty good summation. What's funny (read, sad) is that if it plays out like that, there will be some LSU fans upset about not beating them by more, and questioning the defense giving up 20+ pts.

I am not looking up our roster but safeties and db's are big, fast, and physical in the SEC. SEC is known to be very physical along with being fast. The PAC 10/12 is known for being a finesse conference. Everytime LSU plays a PAC 10 team we add hits to the highlight reels.

You love looking at size on paper but having watched Oregon they never look very imposing at any position(maybe its the uniforms ). Maybe they have inflated some heights and weights on their linemen. I expect a great game and I expect it to be very physical. LSU will bring the wood and try to physically dominate Oregon.

If you guys do that than we are screwed. You have to remember though that Stanford was balanced. Luck threw dimes down the field with corners draped all over receivers and he hit the receivers in the perfect spot. We couldn't stack the box. Then you had 250 pound Gerhart running at you.

Topwater, our seniors were small. This group is not small. Our Rover is 210 and our FS is 202 and Dargan/Jackson right behing them have little dropoff Mitchell and Gildson will be 189/180.

This team got bigger. That is why you didn't see it on the field last year.

Sounds like they are trying to become more like an SEC team.

actually...its about even. But our d-lines aren't on the field at the same time. How 'bout matching your d-line with our o-line?
