At orange beach and it's been taken over by LSU fans. Had a Bama fan say to me "y'all take over"! Kinda funny.

Out of all the other fans down here, (Bama, AU, Arky) the only a-hole that I have encountered has been an AU fan. An old Bama and I were talking football and this AU prick walks up joins the conversation. Dude acted like AU had been winning championships for years and the rest of us were second rate. Asked him if he had ever been on tigerdroppings and he said all LSU fans were asses. Reminded me why I dislike AU.

AU guy was still taking it up his arse from '05, he can't believe tigers won two titles and his weak arse team that barely beat LSU didn't get the chance to be destroyed by USC.

My wife and our 2 H.S. age girls were there last week. A couple, in their mid-30's, with 3 young kids, were next to us on the beach. He was decked out in an AU t-shirt and an AU cap. We were relaxing under our 10'x10' canopy. We also had our purple LSU folding chairs. They had nothing. It started to rain and we invited them under our canopy. They accepted. They also brought their towels, etc. under the canopy to keep them dry while we rode out this minor rain. The wife was very nice and sat down. I offered him a seat (and a beer- but, being a strict Southern Baptist he gave me a stern look and said "No."). Anyway, he refused to sit down. No big deal. Except that I had lowered the canopy legs a little and his head was nearly touching the top. I offered the seat again and he refused again. Then his wife spoke up. She quietly said he would never sit in an LSU chair. My wife and I laughed but quickly noticed that they weren't laughing. She was serious. Even though we had invited them under the comfort of our dry canopy, he would rather stand than sit down in an LSU chair with the rest of us. His wife was clearly embarassed. When the rain stopped after about 5 minutes or so, they left and set up their stuff next to us. She thanked us and was very gracious. He said NOTHING. No response, not even a "F*@# you". Later, after they were out of ear shot, my wife and I discussed what had just happened as if we had just seen a UFO; we saw something but we weren't sure what it was or what to make of it. We've never really been around AU fans so we don't any frame of reference. At any rate, the question I want to know is: Was he the typical Auburn fan or was his wife the typical Auburn fan?

Good thing, he probably would have dropped a load, being around winners and all for a change

was there this past weekend and in our condo alone, 10 of the 12 SEC teams were represented. I met fans from all teams except Vandy and Miss. st.

If an auburn fan would have offered me a chair and a beer i wouldve been drinking standing up. I wouldn't have sat in an auburn chair but i would have atleast been polite and spoke.

Unfortunately every school has their share of “a-holes”…and Auburn is defiantly no exception…. It appears you all ran into some of “Auburns Finest”

I'm down here now and most of the opposing fans are keeping it on the DL so I don't have to thump them.

Posting from San Carlos right now, and as always there are more LSU fans than either Alabama school. Of course they have to go to the "thanks for your LSU money" card when the topic of sports comes up.

BTW, the Hangout in Gulf Shores, is phenominal. Decent bar food, great atmosphere, and live bands every night.

I think Benji Davis is here Saturday.

My previous experiences with Auburn fans would be more like the a-hole's wife, not the a-hole...every fanbase has a few.....especially in the SEC

Ville Platte had 32 cajuns at Perdido Key. We were flaunting our purple and gold. Some of our Bama fans were hard pressed to sit under the LSU tents. So funny. Better enjoy while we can!

We were there last week and it was "Purple & Gold beach".A Tenn. fan said there were more LSU fans than AU and Bama fans put together. Most other fans were very respectful but for the typical Bama fan yelling "roll tide " as they were leaving ,obviously not wanting to stick around for any serious discussion on the matter.

I must try this travelling places as a fan.

What do I do? Is it appropriate to scream at other people.. I mean fans, based on what they are wearing?

Is it just a conversation starter, or do I perpetually outwardly maintain my fanhood?

How many articles of memorablia is sufficient?

I spent a week with my family in Ft. Walton Beach & Destin. LSU fans were the majority of all the SEC teams.

I wore USC stuff all the time and it was just an icebreaker. Nobody threw urine bags or erected a billboard in my path. Most folks were just curious and a beer (or several) was exchanged in both directions.

Real life isn't like the Rant.

I was in Pensicola (Portifino Resort) 2 weeks ago and the women at the check-in desk said 70% of the people here were from Louisiana.
