your reading comprehension is "challenegd" because I said don't blame the players. I understand and agree with why they would opt out.

Someone may have made the point before I am now. But i hate this. Joe Burrow said the additional bowl practices to get right with his guys is one of the biggest reasons for the leap he made from 18-19.
Bowl games "don't matter" until you realize the benefit (and, sure, that isn't going to be a 6-6 team jumping to 15-0) of the extra reps going into the next season.

When we say bowl games don't matter we are talking about for the guys who are sure fire going to the NFL. If you're going to likely get a multi-million dollar deal in the NFL why risk a career ending injury on a game that means nothing? For the underclassmen and people returning, yes they are a great opportunity to get more reps.
