How can we let jefferson be our starter when we were dead last in offense in the sec and close to the bottom in the country.I mean j. lee threw picks but he got us yardage and points too.

It should be completely open I agree.....nobody on this team offensively or defensively except for Peterson and Jones have solidified their position.

Jones isnt even the second best player on defense.

I don't think the blame is all on Jefferson. We never had a running game all season. I'm open for QB competition, but I blame the coaches for the lack of offense. Running the option to the short side of the field is like playing against 12 defenders! Along with that, Jefferson is not a great option QB. My problem with Lee is that he looks scared to take a hit, therefore he gets happy feet, never getting set, and resulting in INT's. I'd rather take my chances with Chris Garrett, but then again, is it right to throw him in with Crowton's gameplan?

I beg to differ, Sheppard at LB should be automatic also.

I would much prefer they open up the OC position next year but therein lies the problem. IMHO GC will ruin whoever is the next QB.

It would be foolish NOT to start CG over the other three QBs. RS is a great changeup in the Wildcat Formation, but I believe CG will be better the sooner he sees playing time. JJ and JL have had more than enough time to bloom, and both have failed miserably.

I have no problem having all positions open to competition. However keep in mind this would be our third year with a different quaterback. Not neccesarily a bad thing but it is doubtful we would win the sec west trying to break in another new quarterback.

Its JJ's position to lose. That the way Miles is, and it won't change. Barring an injury, there's no way anyone but JJ starts.

Yeah, and people gave me shite for saying that LSU should consider working CG into the starting position next season with a two-QB system. Seriously, I do not see what others see in Jefferson and how "far" he has come along as some suggest.

Thats fine I thought Jones played well the second half of the year....but I'd be OK with saying Peterson is the only person with a guaranteed starting spot

Weak OL and no running game can make any QB look bad.

Anybody who questions JJ's status or performances on this board will be attacked, or so it appears. Is it such a bad idea to consider giving CG some playing time to allow him to develop as a starter? According to those who have actually seen the kid play know he has the best arm and accuracy on the team right now.

Why start all over again. That is DUMB. No 1st year RS fresh is going to do shite with out a running game.

If we can run, JJ is good enough for me.

Same thing was said when Lee was put in...same when Lee failed and people wanted JJ in....now we're in the same boat saying the same thing about a QB who hasn't proved anything to anybody on a collegiate level.

It's called blind optimism in the unknown...groping the darkness for some sort of positivity for a quick fix of a myriad of problems. Ironically, by focusing on one issue, I suppose in the mind of the individual supposing said case, if the situation doesn't resolve with the solution presented, another problem must be found, thus presenting a severe circular logic problem.

To summarize....get the frick over it. JJ is your best shot at having decency at QB.
