He really connected with players. You could see it with their comments after his departure, but you could also see it in their actions on and off the court. Maybe they were motivated by other means, who knows. MM seems to have a similar connection as his former players are following him.

WW could build a roster like no other. Best I've ever seen. Relentless. Basketball coaching was the question IMO...we'll wait and see on MM, but I give MM a far advantage there at the start.

There was a huge debate about WW's offensive philosophy and numbers, but honestly, we we were always stagnant. Built to run like an NBA team, but without NBA offensive players...except rarely at certain positions. Offensive efficiency was mostly from defense this past year. We stood around a shite-ton. We rarely posted Days, our best offensive player when utilized near the paint. I'm not hating on Wade, I had just accepted the flaws because he was unbelievable at certain aspects. If MM can pull off anywhere near roster management, the coaching difference could really elevate us. He took the job for a reason. We need to get behind him.

Pretty sure you're exaggerating or haven't watched much basketball. Either way, I know that you're upset about things, but you will hopefully get over it.

It’s because the players were recruited by that coach and because their coach is no longer they seek the transfer portal they typically follow the coach that recruited them

WTF are you talking about? You clearly have trouble with reading comprehension. And instead of actually saying whatever you meant, you didn't say anything in your post. Sack up and say something.

WTF are you talking about?

Wade could build a roster like no other?? The best that you've ever seen. But the style offense he ran needs NBA players and he didn't have them?? Again, I ask you, WTF are you talking about?

WW was good for LSU a short time but it is not like he can't be replaced. He didn't win shite with all that talent that you "think" were thw greatest teams ever assembled and got us in trouble. You're delusional. Sack down!

If the coach paid me "x" amount of dollars and believed in me to perform, I would love the coach as well. It is pretty easy to see with all these recent departures that playing for "LSU" had nothing to do with them coming here. It doesn't take a genius to read the room.

It's basketball, good players adapt to different schemes of play. This exodus has everything to do with Will Wade and the "promises" he made to get most of his players here.

The fact that most of his players are leaving fits the narrative that these "promises" will no longer be fulfilled, so why stay here? Might as well see what else you can get to go elsewhere.

Yikes. Might want to read my post again.

And you might want to revisit the year-to-year roster changes that Wade dealt with and the changes he made after losing players. You clearly didn’t understand what I said or meant. And you clearly missed my criticism of him. Good luck man…knee-jerk much? Grow up

Ironic

I have no idea what dead horse you think I’m beating because you clearly only read what you wanted. I’m not explaining my post, it’s pretty simple and you didn’t understand it

He was great at recruiting talent

Just average at building the actual roster & balancing strengths & weaknesses

Wade being "unbelievable in certain aspects" is because he paid players.

I don't understand how dumb you have to be to not get it.

He was an unbelievable recruiter. We get it. But the "why was he an unbelievable recruiter" is the question you need to focus on dummy.

Go to bed.

He's history. Leave it be. Move on. You'll be fine.

I clearly didn't miss anything. You sucked him off and then talked in circles closing with your hope that CMM measuring up to WW. All nonsense. WW did not walk on water. LSU will be just fine. Relax, cheese dick.

This is the case with 99% of high level players in college athletics. They commit to a coach, not a school. shite most football players commit to a POSITION coach. I had classes with football players in college who specifically said they were at LSU because of their RB coach, DB coach, WR coach, etc.

However, I'm not sure why everyone is pretending like these guys, not from LA, didn't continuously repped LA. They made so many comments throughout the season about putting on for the state, playing for Louisiana, etc. These guys loved the school and culture that Wade built.

Imagine signing a 4 year contract with your employer (where your employer could end that contract at any time) and you went to that company specifically for either your direct supervisor or because your direct supervisor told you he could get you a promotion in a year. Now, imagine your supervisor leaves and your company hires an entirely new set of supervisors who you've never met, and they try and completely change the course and scope of your employment.

Now imagine that it's the most important job of your life where you can earn generational wealth if you succeed at that job.

That's what you're (not necessarily you, but the board in general) shitting on 18 year olds for.

My point, that seems to have been missed, is that given the year-to-year losses in players, there is no coach that has been able to re-assemble a team year after year like Wade. It’s not even close. LSU isn’t Kentucky or duke and every offseason we were wondering how shitty we would be and by season's start we were wondering which round of the tourney we we were going to get to…building a roster…he was a master.

You used a Brady squad…Jesus…at least put a pic of CJ, Shaq, and Stanley. FFS

I wouldn't say 99%. But yeah, I get the general philosophy behind most elite players choosing a school.
