One Key Factor Saturday - Colin Klein

One thing I believe is understated around the TAMU program as a whole is the departure of Colin Klein as the OC.
As we were carved up the last 2 years by Marcel Reed, the architect of that was Klein. Elko has been lauded as some genius, but I think he was far more the benefactor of Klein than vice versa.
Being here in Kansas, the KSU fans are thrilled to have him back and the results have been quite successful. He’s getting the most out of Avery Johnson.
I really think Texas A&M will look back after this season and say “man, we missed that guy as the playcaller”.

Wiggins ain't it. Curious promotion IMO.
That said, I got to see Baker's D stop or at least slow down Reed this Saturday. Too much PTSD.

Elko is defensive minded. He will probably have a good gameplan for SL who doesn't see the field well at all right now. Pretty sure his gameplan will be 0 legs for SL until you force them to back off. Ole Miss was literally using 2 spies at times and he still couldn't throw it. Do you know how open your WRs are when you're using multiple spies? They practically dared him to throw the ball and he couldn't. I'm not convinced this guy is a SEC QB until he shows he can actually have a good game throwing it down the field on a SEC team.
Pin down on him on runs and force him to throw. With his inaccuracy right now - even when he's on - he's likely to turn the ball over because he can't string it together for a full drive. His TD/INT ratio is horrible right now.

We didnt want to move on from CK. He got a P4 HC job at his Alma Mater. You aren't keeping a guy when that happens
Wiggins hasn't been terrible. The plays are there, the QB just sucks and the OL lost 4 guys to the NFL from last year, and 2 of our top 4 WRs are out.
