tats aside, this offense feels no better or worse than anything we’ve had since OBJ and Landry left. I’ll take the point on Ensminger. He probably needs to go also but the oline is a bigger problem.

I agree with that, but the oline SHOULD be way better next season, as should the QB and WR's. Finally getting a pretty good QB for two years in a row POSSIBLY in the same system for two years in a row

he’s not playing against the wet paper bag defenses he faced in ‘16

Could he not coordinate this offense to score 20 points on sabamm?
probably wouldn't have faired much better than Ensminger this season but in 2019 I think he could score some points with this offense against Bama. Probably Ensminger could as well. So either way, with Freez or without him, this offense is going to be better.

Yes. How convenient. Let's all just throw the stats out and make our points.

you haven't learned the rules of the rant. Stats have to be carefully selected and only count if they aid your argument other wise they are just wet paper bag stats.

Running Miles/Cam offense.
On his own, schooling his own players, not so much.

he not only beat Cam, but lapped him, all while using cams own playbook. He did better with Cams 'offense' than Cam ever did The team averaged more ypg under Ensminger in 2016 than any other team in LSU history! Let that sink in for a minute.

if you only look at the name of the school, you’re right.
if you look at the numbers from ‘16 compared to this year, no.

LSU played 3 teams with defenses in the top 74 in the country in 2016.

we’ve played 8 this year.

Auburn at #49 is the 7th toughest defense we’ve faced this year.

Arkansas at #75 in 2016 was the 4th toughest d we played.

in 2016, we played 3 teams with defenses ranked 90th or worse, 2 of them being 110th or worse.

we only played one of those this year

it’s a lot easier to run up yards when 4 of the 7 teams you face are absolutely abysmal at playing defense. compared to 7 of 9 being above average.

Note: i don’t have FCS rankings, so SELU is not included in any of the above numbers.

He benefitted in 2016 from having a pretty good oline and a 2 generational players at runningback (albeit one of them was hurt most of the year). And, as already stated, he only faced two defenses with a pulse in Florida and Alabama.

The offense line is all guards. Neither tackle is athletic enough right now.

i get a kick out people touting Fournette breaking rushing record vs Ole Miss and saying never would have happened under Miles.

LF7 got all his yard on the toss dive everybody hated. Ole Miss just couldn’t stop him.

according to another poster on here we played against the the #4 SOS in 2016 compared to #31 in 2017 and #6 in 2018.
So all these teams that comprise the #4 SOS in the country have terrible defenses. That makes no sense. Hell I am even more impressed with Ensmingers accomplishment in 2016 after seeing that.

Most of the people that refuse to place any blame on the OL and ALL of the blame on the OC don't know much about football. Yea we need a different OC but it doesn't matter who is calling playing when the other guys are rushing 4 and dropping 7 all the while your stack the OL with 8 and only send 3 receivers out AND those 8 guys can't give the QB 2 seconds.
