We are going up for the first time too. We have friends that have a tailgate in the Grove. Is it generally acceptable to drag a rolling ice chest into the Grove? I have heard that you must drink from a cup (no cans/bottles/koozies). I don't want to drag my cool pops a mile only to have some OM security to dump it out or confiscate it.

It should be fine. Just whatever you drink alcohol wise put it in a cup.

Gameday weekend are a freaking nightmare in Oxford
Anywhere you wanna go eat or wherever is a huge wait.
Not many bars .
A hidden gem to reccomend is Penny bar underneath Moe’s
Great AC in there. Divey feel. Away from the library and the huge covers. No thanks
My fav bartenders on the square . My friend Bianca is working all weekend , she’s a sweetheart and makes the best margarita in town.
It’s worth checking out for a drink before the game or after and may be less crowded
Again there is few options and everybody and their mama will be going to them after the game
Also the Uber situation, there are a few geofenced pickup spots for the square area
You can’t just call it and get in one wherever. So be mindful of that

Yeah batesville is having a bigtime glow up
They’ve added several new hotels and are about to open a huge strip mall off the interstate with an academy/hobby lobby and a few other stores . Will be big for that area .
