I could go to the game and combine it with a college visit for my kid. Yes she is looking all around at schools. I want her to do that.
How hard would it be to find a place to stay in Oxford. Say Thursday night through Saturday night?
Do people fly in? Charter/private or go the Memphis?
I am coming from northeast Florida would rather drive but it is just a little far.

Downvote for allowing your child to consider OM. That’s a crappy school academically.

I'll give you a straight answer because I am a 25 year LSU season ticket holder and both of my kids go to Ole Miss. They would have gone to LSU but the out of state tuition is ridiculous. Getting a place to stay in Oxford is pretty much impossible. They have a rather lacking hotel selection. We make our reservations a year in advance. Tupelo may be an option as well as Grenada, Batesville and Memphis. We live on the MS Gulf Coast and always drive but I would say most people that fly in go to Memphis or Jackson.

Hope that helps

Is letting her come to LSU is a good academic decision?

You will need to fly into memphis and rent a car to oxford but it's too late for a hotel and probably too late for a airbnb.

Ooooh man

I just checked Airbnb and there aren’t many options that don’t have you spending $4,000 for the long weekend

You may have waited too late . The hotels here fill up months in advance for football season

Also: gameday weekends are a horrible way to gauge the town and campus . It’s so much traffic and it’s at max capacity and you can’t get in any restaurant or bar without hours long wait

EDIT: there is limited availability at the TRU hotel by Hilton in town for $580 a night… $1900 for the weekend for you

Actually surprised this was available
