Old Timer CB Duos: Burrell-Teal in '78 or Daniel-Britt in '82?

Last year I think we had a good thread or 2 about the best C-OG combination at LSU (Albergamo-Andolsek; McClure-Faneca; Wilkerson-Peterman; etc.), and a couple of weeks ago I think I remember somebody bringing up a discussion of what duo formed the best CB combination in LSU history.
I looked back and saw some pretty good DBs for LSU, some of whom played around the same time but never as a duo (e.g., Tommy Casanova, Norman Hodgins, & Mike Williams around '69-'74, and Anthony Marshall, Rodney Young, Tory James, & Cedric Donaldson around '90-'97), and some of whom looked like pretty good duos that I never got to see in person.
1977-79 – Clinton Burrell & Willie Teal & Chris Williams
1982 – Eugene Daniel Jr. & James Britt
2003 – Corey Webster & Travis Daniels
2007 – Chevis Jackson & Jonathan Zenon
I was particular intrigued by the talent LSU had at CB in 1978 & 1982, and wondered what the general consensus was among older fans as to who was better? Also, how you think they stack up against other combinations in more recent years.

Also, just for FYI general interest, here's SI's 1978 preseason report of the #14 LSU Tigers: LINK.
I think safety Chris Williams went on to set LSU's record for INTs that season.

Played on that team with Burrell. Before he hurt his knee , he was one of the best !

It's interesting how the mainstream press still didn't consider bowl games as part of the real season, even as late as 1978. This was almost 5 years after the Alabama-Notre Dame debacle from the 1973 season.

Dang ... this takes me way back. Those were two really good tandems. Oddly enough, Eugene Daniel had the best NFL career, but his nickname while at LSU was "Toast". Hard to say which duo was better, but I know that '82 defense was possibly the best I've ever seen at LSU. Their performance against Bama that year was unbelievable. Rydell Melancon, Leonard Marshall, Ramsay Dardar, Tim Joiner, Lawrence Williams, Gregg Dubroc, Shawn Burks, James Britt, Eugene Robinson, Jeffrey Dale, Liffort Hobley ... awesome group. FYI ... one Michael Mahtook was a backup LB for that team.

Daniels & Britt were phenomenal. Doesn't seem like they were appreciated as much at the time because we came off of a losing season compared to the others listed.

If you ever have the opportunity, watch the 1982 game against Alabama. That was the best defensive performance I've ever seen,and that includes Saban's defenses. I truly believe that game played a major role in the Bear retiring that year.

82 - Eugene and Britt. Britt was smart as a fox, an accounting major, on top of being a great athlete. Chris Carrier was in the secondary too. Can't beat the Soul Patrol.

Willie Teal was one of the best. As I recall, he had 4.3 speed. I saw numerous occasions where he made big saves on apparent busted defensive plays.
Williams was overrated. Against Florida State he got burned badly by Flowers.
