that's the unforgiveable sin.

Here's the e-mail of the guy, Brian Hommel, who is in charge of the licensing at LSU. I recently e-mailed my thoughts on Toonces and I got a reply. Of course I got the response that LSU's merchandise sales are up dramatically since the toonces logo was introduced. Told him I thought the rise in sales had to do with the 2 national football championships, not Toonces. Seems like a nice guy but I think the administration needs to hear more of what we see on the boards about Toonces. Such a weak logo!!

bhommel@lsu.edu

Edit: I had actually e-mailed the vice chancellor for that department, Eric Monday, but he forwarded it to Brian Hommel. EMonday@lsu.edu if you'd like to go directly to the vice chancellor.

Oh believe me... I have e-mailed anyone I thought would be remotely connected to this issue.

LSU athletic department (athletics@lsu.edu), the TAF, all those people in marketing, etc.

the only response i have gotten is "Thanks for your feedback."

The guy actually e-mailed me back which was pretty nice and quoted all of the numbers showing that the sale of LSU branded merchandise has increased a lot. I attributed that to the national championships and told him that nearly all fans I hear from and read posts from prefer the traditional tiger. I asked that they could at least make our traditional tiger more available as it's still part of our uniforms, i.e. the helmets. I've read that they limit the licenses to retailers who can sell the traditional tiger head. Can't find it anywhere here in Georgia. Send him an e-mail. Perhaps if they start hearing it more often, they'll allow more licenses to sell the stuff we want to buy.

EMonday@lsu.edu is the vice chancellor for that department.

Bhommel@lsu.edu is the director in charge of licensing (I believe that's his title).

My hope would be for them to scrap Toonces altogether. But yeah if they make the good tiger more available then that would be cool too.

You should save this photo to your computer and then include it as an attachment to them. They obviously need something more in order to get the message through their thick skulls.

Meh, I think it's awesome that our fans/alumni are concerned about every aspect that is LSU. Not all schools are like that. In fact, many don't get involved and don't care about anything. whether it be athletics, academics, the band, or even our logo, LSU fans care, and that says A LOT about our school.

I, for one, am proud that we care and are passionate. It's this kind of passion that keeps LSU on top.

There was a store owner on here this past week that said that LSU does license the traditional/vintage tiger logos but they are few and difficult to get. Sounds like an attempt to minimize the traditional logo so that people will buy Toonces. I told him I won't buy anything with Toonces and have told family and friends not to give me anything with Toonces.

yeah I recall that thread.

I have a theory that's probably not true but i dunno: LSU marketing knows we hate Toonces, so they call stuff with the good tiger "vintage" so they can sell it for more.
