I'd love to see John Gruden come out of the box to lead the Tigers. I believe he has said in the past that he would love to come to LSU

What about someone like Josh Mcdaniels? Young, knows offense, can develop a QB, Belichick disciple.
Sure, he may jump back to the NFL for a head coaching gig, but you run that chance with anyone.

My initial concern about replacing Les is that we'd lose our entire defensive staff and I thought that would be a real strength this year. So far it hasn't been but I'll admit it's early.
So I'd be interested in how tight any new head coach is with his current defensive coaching staff. Would Herman want to bring his current staff with him, or would he want to retain any coaches (Ogeron and DBs, maybe even Aranda)?
And I would assume another program would pick up Miles quickly; who can he convince to come with him vs. who would stay at LSU?
I think LSU's success has more to do with raw talent and recruiting athletes that in the coaching they get here (DBs are the exception) and our current coaches get those athletes here. How do you balance getting some new coaches in who can actually coach vs. losing some/all of our recruiters?
Or does LSU recruit itself?

We need to bring the magic back.

EXACTLY
When is the last time we actually had a top-notch upper echelon hire? Maybe Bill Arnsparger???
None of the past coaches were the "popular" best available at the time. And that certainly includes Little Nicky.

No.
Recruiting is a huge part of college football.
Hiring someone unproven in that area is insane

herman runs a mickey mouse offense.
what does this even mean?
he took it to alabama. he has taken it to all ranked favored teams against his..
yeah, i'll take a coach that knows how to score on the very best defenses.. even with a 3rd string qb.. i'll take a coach who will completely change his entire offense mid-season to adapt to his personnel.. you know.. a coach who actually adjusts and coaches..
will take that all day long, because at least he tries.. instead of just simply running the same thing over and over and over and over and over.. regardless of how ineffective it is.

no chance, Lance. Washington was the only school that Chris was okay leaving Boise state for after the Huskies renovated their stadium and facilities.

I don't know a single person that supports Miles any longer.
I have been a supporter of Miles since his first season here, and I still support him. But only because he's still the head coach. It wouldn't matter to me if the head coach was Popeye, I'd still support the man due to the fact that he coaches at LSU.
All that being said, I believe it's time for a change. After what happened at the end of last season and how the Wisconsin game played out, after the entire off season to remedy things that needed to be fixed, and things didn't appear to have changed, I don't see how LSU and Coach Miles can continue to have a positive relationship.
But, if the powers to be decide to retain Miles, I will continue to support him. Just like all the other coaches that are at LSU.

If this is your only two or bust. The next coach will be a bust. You aren't getting either one of them. Coach O is your next head coach
