I think there must have been some fine metal flake in the old gold helmets. They should have lightened the purple letters somewhat and added metal flake to those too for some nice *pop*.

yeah there is flake in the paint, the lettering is just a sticker, dont know if they could have flake on that too

I think the old gold helmets kick arse and I would definitely vote for these to remain if it ever came to that. FWIW, if any of you have serious coin and a considerable lack of sense, you can get a pair of these shoes along with the metal case they come in plus some TAPE and a TSHIRT for 3 grand OBO lol! Oh, and they have the gloves on there too for $84!
