Ohio State Fans- Serious Question...

What happened in the national title game last year?
I'm really not trying to flame. I know that Ginn getting hurt most have severely hampered you, but it just seemed like the Buckeyes were slow and lethargic throughout the game.
If LSU jumps out to an early lead, psychologically, how will Ohio State deal with it? I ask that because I saw what happened to Oklahoma in the '05 championship game. They were back for their second straight MNC title appearance and completely collapsed the first time USC scored on them.
I doubt that will happen this time- LSU has had a difficult time putting opponents away when they have leads, but I'm very curious to see what happens if LSU gets up early.

Smith had sex with Anthony Gonzalez's Girlfriend the night before the game.
JT called a team meeting and the entire team was fighting about it.

Is there one Ohio State fan that will answer my question?

This honestly is a story that has been reported. There is no proof that the said Meeting ever took place, but from the report he gave it to her EITHER from behind (because he contiuned to be behind the following day) OR on his back, (Because that's where Florida had him all day, and he had been conditoned to like being on his back the night before).

Yes Virginia, there really is a Santa Claus! Seriously, where do you "short bus" riders keep coming from?

according to an osu fan i talked to in person.
"troy smith gained 15 pounds with his dinners for the heisman. and ted gynn jr. faked his injury to make sure he did not get injured before the draft because he was expecting to go early"

honestly, wouldn't you think if it was just that they were overconfident, they would fix that at halftime and came out to make it a game?
I do think UF was a faster team, but not to the extent most SEC fans want to make it. I think it was a combination of 3 things.
1. OSU got lazy and overconfident during the layoff.
2. Tressle got outcoached by Meyer.
3. UF was a faster team in the trenches and that is what really sealed OSU's fate.
might be totally wrong, but thats my view.

The story about Gonzo and TS getting into in the lockeroom before the game is true. People say he was because he banged his gf, but others say it was because the team lost respect for Troy while on the banquet circuit and he returned with an ego and when he got up to speak before the game, Gonzo went to relieve himself and Troy did not like that and words flew and shite got heated.
This is the real reason why I (in my opinion remember) lost. I will cut and paste from an earlier post.
It was not speed that did us in. It was a failure across the board executing and a congruence of events. On the offensive side of the ball losing Ginn freed up an extra defender. The safeties did not have to account for deep cover when Ginn was on their side of the field so Meyer sent an extra defender to blitz or moved the safety up and took away our underneath stuff and passing lanes where Gonzales excelled. Our center is responsible for blocking assignments and he is the one that screwed up over 50% of the time (can link to the article if you want). With that extra defender now having to be accounted for when he was coming caused confusion among the OL. You cannot do that against a very good UF team and expect to move the ball. Our failure and TO's on the offensive side of the ball lead to our D being ineffective. UF had only ONE scoring drive start on their side of the 50. We give any team that kind of field position and we will get beat all day. Also UF's spread matched up very well with our depleted from injuries and inexperienced secondary. Our DC tried to mask those holes all season by playing the soft zone (don't break-bend), but Michigan and UF exposed it and attacked them. There were a couple other intangible contributions why we lost (complacent, divided clubhouse, UF angry at being disrespected) but I think that is overblown.

If there is no explanation of why they played so poorly, what makes you think this year is any different?

My take.
Florida was much hungrier and obviously took their game preparation mroe seriously. Ohio State came there thinking it was a coronation. Well, it was. It was the Gators coronation.
Couldn't handle the speed rush (first step) of the Florida DE's all night and never made adjustments.
Never was determined to run the ball. Florida got up 21-7, Ohio State forced a punt and ran the ball right at and down Florida's throats to cut the lead to 21-14. Ohio State forced another punt and never attempted to run the ball again in the game. It seemed to me that OSU had a chance to slow the game down, rest the defense and pound the ball on Florida. They never did.
The Ted Ginn injury hurt a ton. Lost game breaking speed on that play and it changed the offensive sets completely. Suddenly, every receiver was playing one spot up and all the pass routes changed for them.
Bottom line is my first paragraph though. Florida wanted it and Ohio State thought (at least show up like) they already had it.
