Of course it's easy to look at after the fact and say that, but maybe those guys didn't care too much about facilities. Some recruits care more about them than others.

i have toured pretty much all the facilities myself with ad staff. they're as good as anybody

LSU player lounge

Alabama's player lounge

A&M player lounge

Keep telling yourself that

Aren't they supposed to begin renovations soon?

They've raised the funds I believe for the nutrition center and they're getting the funds for the locker room expansion in the ops and turning the old space into the lounge. (I think that's still the plan)

an entire top 5 class didn't care about facilities. you're not serious

ok. you looked at 1 room. the players lounge like that is the most important room. players get to tour the entire facility like i did. i've already said, 1 school upgrades a particular room 1 year. lsu does it the next. and the players know that. they're told that coming in.

We've upgraded the locker rooms and the stadium. Haven't done much else to the operations buildings or practice fields. Athletic dorms haven't changed in probably a decade. These are the facilities I'm referring to.

Offseason...?

Men's and ladies hoops are headed to NCAA's. Gymnastics might win it all. Baseball and softball are a combined 30-1.

Yeah people thinking we should land every top recruit because we have top notch facilities obviously hasnt seen other schools. A lot of programs have great facilities, even smaller schools. I think it shows how good of a recruiting team Frank and Les have become.

And yet, as 'woeful' as LSU's facilities are supposed to be, we are in the upper echelon in most SEC sports; including in top 2 or 3 in the Big 3 sports plus track, gymnastics, softball, etc.

There was a thread last year about how the ULM coach lauded Les Miles for being able to put a great product on the field and recruit so well while having sub-par facilities in the SEC.

overall it is. other schools that have shiny new stuff from the past few years have been playing catch up. lsu was one of the first to really up the ante in the arms race and hasn't been sitting still

It has though. We don't have barber shops or arcade machines. we don't have a nutrition center or fancy athlete dorms. and we don't have shiny materials and neon signs. The locker rooms in Tiger Stadium are a good representation of what the ops needs to look like to keep up with CFB recruiting.

Look at the new Bama and atm upgrades. They're nicer then ours. Not sure how that isn't obvious. We'll catch up.

Overall LSU is as good as anyone but I'm including stadium etc.

Over the past 10 years, Bill Gates has most often been called the richest man in the world.

Add up the fortunes of the Walton heirs, and they surpass King of the Nerds' wealth. That means lots of shekels for Hog State.

We're considered to have top 5 facilities in the nation probably 5-7 years ago. Everyone else has upgraded and we haven't budged. We aren't even top 5 in the SEC anymore.

This is the truth. For sure Bama, Tamu, Tennessee, Auburn, and Arkansas are above us in the SEC. Then places like Cal, Oklahoma, Oregon, are sick as well when you check out their whole area.

Florida is getting an IPF is the only thing that puts us over Florida IMO (I believe that are now getting one though).

The Ops center is scheduled for an upgrade, so that will change. LSU has already upgraded the Tiger Stadium locker room, to the point where it's easily among the best, if not THE best stadium locker rooms around....

...and we're building what will be the hands-down best athletic nutrition center there is. For comparison sake, Texas A&M just built a room in a building to house theirs. We're building a whole building...

Without getting to far into it, I see alot of teams facilities. In terms of football and workouts they're state of the art. Where other programs outdo them I the "all under one roof" approach. Adding training table and better lounge will fill that gap. But no one is touching Oregon. They're football-only bldg is larger than the lsu ath dept admin bldg in parking lot of Ts.

Several schools have done major work since ops and Cox were built/renovated. Glad they're catching back up.
