so is this the year that we become "We are LSU" again, or are we still "Next Year U"? when you look into the eye of the tiger, do you see potential championships or are we still at the level of the Miles decline era ™ ?

too many people focus on W/L and since there are only 12 regular season games (and many are not legit competitions due to the nature of CFB), outlier incidents can severely sway wins and losses. our statistical rankings are a much better way to gauge our quality (when we're discussing improvement/status)

will we finally see a modern/passing offense at LSU? What are your expectations for our ranking in ypg? what's a good O/U line?

the "Next Year U" crowd last year said that next year (aka this year), we needed DL depth to make the jump. well we have the depth now. does our D return to elite status? do we expect a top 5 D (in either ypg or ypp)? what's a good O/U line?

what major statistical ranking do you think we most improve upon this year?

what major statistical ranking do you think falls this year?

what's your bold prediction? what ranking will come out of nowhere that people don't expect?

i think that we may fall into a much lower level than that under O's tenure, tbh

i don't think that fall happens this year, though

if we have a mediocre year, though, it may affect that recruiting class and the bottom may fall out very quickly

lots of pressure on a transfer QB and a guy who doesn't want to be our OC who is, in fact, our OC

My biggest concern for the long term

"LSU will be a championship program this year" is what he's selling these kids. When that fell apart in September last year, we saw how it affected recruiting.

I have little doubt he's telling our commits the exact same thing this year, but if 3-4 losses is on our horizon, which is very likely given our schedule, I can see our class falling apart once again.

Agree with judging LSU by the stats though. There's a good chance we could be a much improved team from last year and still finish with the same record.

The early candidate looks like any rushing related statistics.

i think that's a safe bet

i have a bad feeling our pass D is going to slide down due to having 1 legit CB to start the year. i'm also not sold on battle in coverage

If it doesn’t happen this year then it likely never will....

If O can win 10 games this year he will have set himself up for a run in 2019

I was thinking this the other day with 1 of the billion “what does O have to do to win you over threads”. It’s all about the process. People say 10 or 11 wins is foolish. Mike Archer went 10-1-1 and had LSUs only top 5 finish between 1961 (Dietzel) and 2003 (Saban). The only good process thing I’ve seen from O is increasing the # of analysts.

Next year U= no RB, first year starter at QB, oline depth

I honestly see only 7-8 wins. Miami game will answer a lot of questions, Mississippi state game will be the turning point game where they either regroup or fall apart.

I do think our D should be really sick though.

I like Os weekly approach to a game.

I like Os ability to hold a lead.

I’ve liked his clock management.

I’ve disliked his special teams(complete failure here)

I’ve disliked his red zone offensive approach.

I’ve disliked his ability to follow through with allowing coaches to coach.

we're going to lose a lot this year. losing lawrence, alexander, white, and greedy will decimate the D in 2019 (and we don't have CB talent so our secondary will likely be a shite show next year).

i presume you mean 10 wins in the regular season, too

100%

W/L matters if you're an elite team. we are not an elite team

so, the analysis becomes: what strategy are we doing to become elite and how well are we executing that strategy?

I think our pass D will be better than last year. I think everyone is complete doubting the skills of Kary and what we bring to the table.

An elite pass rush can compensate for an average secondary.

Aranda excels at presenting different looks that disguise the rushing LB to confuse the OL and QB. I think Lamar Jackson would agree with that.

The other day, Battle said Aranda has installed twice as many looks as they had last year.

We could have stingley and Fulton next year which are both 5 Star can’t miss prospects with kelvin Joseph and Kary Vincent.

The crap spewed about our secondary is hilarious.

We’ll have an elite defense but the offense will harm it statistically by having a bad turnover rate and TOP.
