+1 again

Again I'll bring up how 25,000 could not have covered a thousand football tickets at any university that we play, so if you add up all of the tickets we use on the band for every away game I think 25,000 doesn't put a dent in that number. Not to mention transportation, food, and lodging for the weekend trips

Moral of the story: We were mislead about the Tigerband going to Seattle, and we must fix this problem. There shouldn't be an argument there....

While we did pile up multiple bodies per bed when I was in TGBFTL, it was because we wanted to, and it was of the coed variety, not piling in with a bunch of dudes.
Make it 25, plus the directors (I guess Frank and Linda can share a room

What does this have to do with anything?
We're talking about UW here. If we called them and asked for 50 more seats in the LSU section, I think they could swing it...
Again, Men's and Women's tennis earns NO revenue from ticket sales...by your logic we shouldn't send them to their road trips...better yet, scratch their new scoreboard since it isn't "tradition"

I'm not saying it wasn't wrong what the AD did, but I'm just trying to point out the main reason they didn't do it, and everyone is trying to say why I'm wrong

The band plays the infamous music of LSU, they are a vital part of our Athletic program (football and basketball to name) and these kids deserve to play in Washington in front of everyone and national television. The band strives for greatness, and won $25K last year. What else do you want these guys to do for you?

I was doing 4/room...hell we usually have 6 or so in a room when we travel.

We get the sales within the arena from food sales at least. So there is at least a couple of bucks for every match that they hold. I believe thats a couple more bucks than the band creates

Because the band is part of the very fabric that is LSU football. Anyone that doesn't understand that has not followed LSU football for very long. Joe Alleva and Skip Bertman would you tell you the same thing themselves if you asked them directly. Unfortunately, when push comes to shove, the band falls pretty low on their priority list. That's understandable (for some of the reasons you've touched on), but considering how small of an expense we're talking about here ($50k in an $84 million budget), it strikes the wrong chord with many LSU fans, which is understandable.
And while Seattle is on the forefront of our minds right now as it is much closer, I'm just as pissed if not more about having no full band trip to one SEC game. As soon as we're done resolving the Seattle deal, we'll turn our attention to raising money to bus the full band to either Tuscaloosa, Oxford or Starkville and back after the game, which would obviously cost much less than $50k. We could probably do that for $20k or less.

There aren't concessions at the Dub...keep trying.
And LSU concessions is run by another Auxiliary not affiliated with LSU Athletics.

That just shows you how little interest I have in tennis ( and would not shed a tear if they were gone) but they are just a little higher up on the priority list.

So you're now agreeing this is about your opinion and not what the Athletic Department is thinking as you previously stated. Got it.

most concessions are run by independent groups where the groups running the concessions make almost all of the money earned.
also as a student paying for these tickets out of my own pocket and being a student for four years and not missed a game in those four years I personally would feel cheated out of my money if the band WAS NOT at the game, regardless of opponent.

No I was just talking about the little knowledge I have about the aspects of tennis at LSU. But I'm pretty sure there might be some guidelines that if you wanted to be an ncaa division 1 sec school then you would have to have certain number of sports and types that every school have to adhere to.

Is that the one about women scholarships, because if so I believe we have a woman's tennis team

Yea, just stop.

haha, I'm sorry but to me the band has defiantly lost it's "presence" since my first game in tiger stadium when I was six. And I have just been kind of turning the cold shoulder towards one of my favorite aspects of a LSU gameday over the past couple of years. Maybe they will return to what I remember they used to be
And that is all I have to say
