What really is comical is when you ask a question deserving of a logical answer these coon arse folks in Lafayette attack you for your logical question because they have no logical answer. So again I ask why do you think you have the right to call yourself the University of Louisiana over the other universities in the system.

And the LSU people really want Monroe to have the Univeristy of Louisiana?
As you stated earlier, University of Arkansas at Monroe would be a more appropriate name for them.

No, the LSU people realize that no school can or will ever have the "university of Louisiana". It's not a prize up for grabs. It's a non-existent desire that people in Lafayette think is obtainable.

West to Calcasieu, up north to Rapids Parish and south to St Mary Parish consider us Louisiana on their radio and local news stations. It started off locally around campus as marketing firms helped get the ball rolling and before long KATC and KLFY began showing Louisiana. The movement grew organically across Acadiana and now we have a strong claim on the "University of Louisiana".

A more appropriate name would be the University of Lafayette, a la the University of Pittsburgh, or The University of Houston.
ULL doesn't have enough of an appeal across the state to be called The University of Louisiana. Very few people outside of the southwestern portion of the state say, "Hey, Louisiana is playing. Turn on the game." Or, "I better make good grades, because my dream is to go to the University of Louisiana."

It's not a question of being beaten here. It has already been decided by the university system. It is a mute point here. There is no university of louisiana. Regardless of what you may dream up. I bet when ULL is introduced they will say ULL wait and see coon arse for the game this weekend. Calling Monroe by bad names and all you said is immature and not the issue we are discussing as well. Trying to reason with you more than difficult.

No, no, no, it changes everything with the schools branding. The fact is if you put AM on merchandise and corrected the obvious "oversights" then it would cost yall 10's of millions to fix that insignificant error.
Also, nobody cares about the "flagship" except LSUA&M fans when they get all defensive. Relax, nobody is looking over you guys shoulder trying to slaughter you.
