I gave up my season tickets this year because with the bad economy, I just couldn't afford them. But for some reason I'm not dissapointed because of the crazy coaching and poor play the past couple of years...go figure.

Because you come across sometimes as pulling for Bama instead of LSU. And that's been happening for a couple of years now.

quote:

have said MANY times that Miles is not as good as Nick. BUT I thik LSU could do better. If Miles rebounds from the last two years with a GREAT season. I will be VERY happy. I hope he beats Saban EVERY YEAR he is at LSU. You are saying I am not an LSU fan. I have been one since 1971. You have a hard time realizing this cause YOU think YOU know more than me about LSU and its your way of venting.

You're not the LSU fan you think you are. You've made your feelings about Miles known, but the part that makes you look like an arse is when you post as if you enjoy saying what you say about Miles.

And somehow you think you can bullshite me and get away with it. That ain't ever gonna happen.

Happy...i suffered through the Archer and Hallman years, and can understand the difference between what I am seeing now in the program and what was apparent then. Do you think we would have lost 9 games over the last 2 years if RP had gotten his act together? Lee and Jefferson could have really benefitted with two years playing behind him.

Yep. But, I knew better.

If LSU goes 9-3 or better this year, put up a Miles Statue. My opinions of Coach Miles will change dramatically. I just don't see it happening based on what I have seen from LSU's coaching staff the last two seasons.

Anyone have a different take on this? What have we seen the last two years that give any hope of doing better?

I don't know that I'd go that far with 9-3 (putting up a Miles statue), but 9-3 in 2010 with our schedule combined with the recent recruiting and likely Top5 2011 class would certainly put to rest the notion that LSU is in some sort of "downward spiral" under Miles. Miles detractors would take a major - if not deathly - blow to their argument if LSU ends up going 9-3 or better this year.

I have us going 9-3 this year with losses at Florida, Auburn and Arky. With a break here or there, this team could easily finish 10-2 IMO.

Things are not as bleak as many make them out to be. We have exceptional talent at the skill positions (specifically at wide out), an offensive line that can only get better, two QBs that are getting older/more experienced, two smart/seasoned coordinators, and a solid head coach/CEO. IMO the main ingredient that has been missing from LSU the last two seasons is "fire." When we won the title - combined with Pelini leaving - that fire went away, and it shouldn't have come as a huge shock to us when that happened as it was the natural progression. I'm hoping the perceived slide in the program and the addition of the two new coaches will bring that fire back in 2010... I'm hoping for an "us against the world" (including our fans) mentality in 2010.

We shall see, but unlike others, I see great promise for the program and 2010.

Crowton is the biggest problem going into 2010. I have no faith that he will make any changes to his scheme that just doesn't work anymore. Smart coaches change their scheme when it stops working, for example, Meyer changed his spread option scheme to more of a power running scheme when he realized the spread he was running wasn't working that well. Expect him to change his scheme again now that Tebow is gone. Crowton doesn't make any changes - he forces the players to adapt to his system as opposed to adapting his system to the players. I would have a lot more confidence in 2010 if Miles got rid of Crowton.

Why did the fire go away? After Miles won the NC, he got a huge raise and a killer contract. That wasn't enough to keep the fire going?

Seriously - we need ANOTHER tallied post on this? We had one before spring practice started. Haven't played a real game since.

Put me in the satisfied camp. We'll be back on top this year - we'll have healthy running backs, someone will step up at QB, and finally TT and RR will be able to shine without the ball dropping upper classmen...
