The reason you're likely not sure about him, as there are a handful of people who still aren't, is that he coached under a defensive minded coach like Saban, and folk have spread this myth that while he was here, he didn't call any defenses. And I have reason to believe that not to be true.
I think Auburn's defenses while he was there were pretty good, relative to the athletes he had to work with.
And Texas has steadily improved on defense since he arrived. They had a long way to go though when he got there. Without him, I have doubts they would have made it to the national title game this year.
He seems to not only love football but is good at scheming and he seems to be well respected by both players and coaches. He has a great reputation.

So why bitch at me then??? I have said MANY times that Miles is not as good as Nick. BUT I thik LSU could do better. If Miles rebounds from the last two years with a GREAT season. I will be VERY happy. I hope he beats Saban EVERY YEAR he is at LSU. You are saying I am not an LSU fan. I have been one since 1971. You have a hard time realizing this cause YOU think YOU know more than me about LSU and its your way of venting.

Hey Rocket, things have gone full circle. People forget you were a hardcore Saban guy, and people gave you crap about being a "Bama fan" instead of an LSU fan for a while after Nick went to Bama.
In fact I remember you taking a break from the Rant for a while it got so bad here.
It wasn't until another few months or maybe even a year that you really hopped on the Miles bandwagon. Now people are saying you're a Miles homer and hate Saban? Go figure.

It's not whether I am happy with Les Miles or not. LSU, win or lose, will always be my team of choice. Les has to win back my trust in him and manage the team better, manage the clock better and manage his staff better. Just because LSU is my team of choice does not mean the Les is my coach of choice unless he begins to show that he is a consistent championship contender. Our 9-3 season with better mangagement decision could have been 11-1 just as easily with poorer management decision a 6-6 record.

Yes PJ you and the other 2nd graders can talk about how "It's a Free Country" & all your other playground taunts. Saban was here, correct. Now he coaches a hated rival. Of course you can't comprehend this. 2nd graders can be hated rivals one day & best friends the next.

If LSU goes 9-3 or better this year, put up a Miles Statue. My opinions of Coach Miles will change dramatically. I just don't see it happening based on what I have seen from LSU's coaching staff the last two seasons.
Anyone have a different take on this? What have we seen the last two years that give any hope of doing better?
