well all three of the D coaches get into practice.... in fact many of the players were surprised last year by there enthusiasm.... Chief, Haley, and Cooper all get into it, and honestly i believe the D is in good hands for the future, but the opposite side of the ball has none of that.... of course offense is more about one man getting his assignment complete but still yall know what im talking about

CA bringing up Rocky to this board is dangerous. He was this years Houston Bates. I love LSU football and I hate so called fans who bash Tiger players future or present. Thanks for taking the time to post.

Hey nasty, I've read most of this thread. Thanks for the posts. My question is, what makes someone a great recruiter. We all know FW is one, but what is it about him that makes him like that?

I suspect that FW and BG will be a little different.

Frank Wilson just has the ability to click and communicate with people... He would be a great salesman.... He calls to check in just enough, not too much or too little, he just is good at what he does..... he really makes you feel like you are wanted and needed and thats probably the most important thing when it comes to recruiting, you can see his honesty and passion for the game

Do you think Coach Eric Taylor could improve our offense?

Nasty, enjoy your time at LSU. Best 4 years of my life. I had to endure the end of Archer's tenure and LSU football was not pretty.

bignasty- I know this might be a little much to ask but with all the questions you are getting about each position it might be faster this way.. Could you post in your opinion what the starting line up will be next year obviously it's a little early but just a projection... Thanks.

agree or disagree?

1. Stud's a dumbass and has no clue how to teach the OL to read defenses.

2. Crowton is just plain crappy coach, but probably a fairly intelligent guy.

3. Josh Will will get lots of PT this season

4. Stud coaching + QB coaching +lack of QB intellect = 112 ranked offense

Lynxcat..... What is your opinion on the LB corps.... it really is kinda tough to say

Interesting news about Rocky. Has he gotten that much bigger to where he can play WLB?

I really have my doubts for the future. I think next year we will be serviceable at the position, but it will be the weak point of the defense.

Baker is athletic, but undersized. Kelvin should be a superstar and it is his money year. A big year could push him into the 2nd round. Stephon Francois has to deliver at the other OLB spot. If he doesn't fit the mold, then we are really in a hole.

I have read good reports on Lamin Barrow, but I agree with you that he won't be ready next year to contribute at the level we need. Tahj Jones still needs to hit the weights. I doubt Prater ever amounts to much.

I do foresee Luke Muncie being a good OLB in the future. He adds good size and speed to the LBing corp. I foresee Welter being serviceable, but not being a 'superstar' at LB. Maclin is going to eventually put his land on the ground and play WDE.

All in all, the bodies are there, but I just don't see the "rock solid" type group I would like. I really think we need one big time LB commitment that can step right in and play. Someone like a Nigel Bradham from a couple years ago would push the LSU defense to new levels and he could come in and contribute immediately.

Have you heard of any big changes to the offense due to Billy G's presence? Also, craziest thing you experience while being recruited?
eta. Nice to have a legitimate perspective on the board. Also nice to see players, or former in your case, that are also Tiger die hards. A lot of that gets lost with the average joe fan. We don't realize that the players care also. Welcome!!
