Not just fundamentals but the overall mind set that each player has..... we have to get them playing with mean streaks..... we havent had a whitworth peterman wilkerson etc type player in a while, Ciron was the closest but didn't have the vocal leadership which isnt his fault there just has to be someone to lead

Ben actually worked out with us some this summer and developed a relationship with us.... i hope he can add that fire

APPEARED to be missing from both lines. Maybe Nevis and Alem showed some (energy at least)......

would be nice to see some mean streak. hard to have a mean streak when you are getting pushed back five yards into the backfield by guys from La Tech though. you would think the coaches would show them film of that and embarrass them in front of the team and light a fire.

The limited time that Hurst and Blackwell played (they should have been playing more), they seemed to show a little attitude and the mean streak that we need. Who else seems to have that attitude.

Well that is something else that chapped my arse.... Nevis should have been starting, no questions asked at all.... put the best player on the field for that position, 6th year senior shouldn't matter..... downs will play the other DT spot this year.... they should be a good combo

What can you tell us about the running back situation? Who do you think will start? How good will Michael Ford be?

Well CA did allude to the fact that a team tends to take on the character (temperament) of its coach. Apparently this staff needs someone to lite a fire under the OL.......Let's hope Ben can do it!
He sure as hell seemed to have a mean streak when he was playing.

BN who in your opinion brings a nasty streak on either side of the ball. Please say some one on OL. If no one say it. If you think its an incoming say it? Name the nasty boys we need.

Was Hitt the worst offensive lineman to start at LSU in the last 10 years or did it just seem that way?
Posted on 2/4/10 at 4:16 pm to bignasty69
Hurst will be a good player.... Lyle played in front because Stud loved him and the fact he was Senior to Freshman..... the center spot is up for grabs again because it's brains vs. strength, T-Bob knows the plays and how to run the center position but PJ is stronger and can block better HOWEVER BTW the center position is the most important position in the offense we run they make most of the calls and it is the position where lots of the mistakes that were made this year that the fans couldn't recognize because they pretty much decide on the whole lines blocking schemes with his calls... the tackle spots will be Joe and Faulk, while the guards will be Hurst and Josh D

At RB we have a good leader coming back in Murphy with Ridley playing some there and at fullback.... that is another position that is killing us because it is huge in our scheme you must have a good Fullback in our offense.... Ford is a damn good athlete and has the tools to be great... gotta get his grades first
Posted on 2/4/10 at 4:20 pm to bignasty69
Soooo, T-Bob needs to hit the weight room and PJ needs to hit the play book.......I hope they push each other, may the better man win.

How does dominique allen look at FB?
Posted on 2/4/10 at 4:22 pm to knockers
We need a leader to emerge that the players respect, Josh D is trying to do that, but Joe is a quite guy. Hurst will play but he is also quite, the five or six key lineman next year must just mold together and play like the o lineman that their potential shows

I love T-Bob to death, he works his arse off, he is just a little undersized
Posted on 2/4/10 at 4:23 pm to bignasty69
Heard T Bob only consistent shotgun snapper. Sounds simple T-Bob needs to come up to speed physically and P.J needs more intellectual stimulation. sounds like maybe P.J has more upside.

exactly but this will be PJ's third year and the center position takes time in our offense, i believe he will progress into our starter
