So, If we had to pick a loss, the lesser of the 3 evils would be to lose to Ole Miss tonight

Just wondering something. BCS rules state that no more than 2 teams form the same confrence can play in a BCS game. If the NC game is LSU vs Bama. Does that mean Ark won't get a Suger Bowl berth? B/c I also thought that if you were in the top 8 you got a bcs berth. Anyone know what would happen?

Arky would not go to the BCS. Only way would be if LSU/Bama finished 1 and 2 in the BCS, but Arky won the SEC somehow.

Great work as always Matt. I also wondered something similar to this. If we lose to Georgia in the SECC game, is it possible that LSU and Bama could play in the Title game and Georgia would go to the Sugar as SEC Champs, or would Georgia be barred since the SEC would already have 2 teams in BCS bowls?

LSU wins out
I agree Oklahoma wins out wins the Big 12 and have not played LSU this year.
Oregon wins out wins Pac 12 but played and lost to LSU at neutral site.
Alabama wins out but IS NOT in the SEC Championship ( Lost to LSU in Bryant Denny Stadium)
LSU vs Oklahoma

So let me get this straight.....LSU has to win 3 more games to get in to the big game....but other teams, such as Bama, OSU, or OU get in as long as they win their last 2. Not to mention we went in to Bammerville and kicked them in the teeth. Doesn't make sense.

We already beat a big 12 team for NC.
We already beat a big 10 team for the NC.
Time to beat a pac whatever team for the NC.

That isn't what Matt says. If you read the thread it says that LSU still makes the Championship game with 1 loss. Ignore the talking heads. They don't understand the math involved in the BCS. My money is on LSUMatt!!

UGA would be in the Sugar as the SEC champ and LSU Bama would be in the NC game.

lsumatt, my hero! Yes, I'll say it once again, YOU are why I was at the 2007 Championship game in New Orleans ... bought my reserves after reading your posts back then.

Don't make fun of me please. I am just a mom trying to understand this, and I have a question about how Bama would get to play in the BCSCG.
I thought you had to win your conference to play? Isn't that what Les Miles said about Georgia during the selection process for the 2007-08 BCS game? Georgia was pleading their case to play and Les said something like "they didn't even win their conference..."
Bama won't win their conference this year...that's where I am confused.
Please be kind :)

Whether Les said that or not there is no rule stating a team must win it's conference. It is were it is ranked at the end. #1 and #2 in the BCS go.

That statement is a popular sentiment, but it isn't a requirement to qualify for the BCS. They never implemented that rule. In fact, if they had, teams like Notre Dame would be ineligible since they don't have a conference.

Just a talking point, not a rule
