posted this last night on the SEC Rant in response to the opinions that the SEC refs take sides....

we turn to a scene deep inside the sanctum of the office of the SEC commissioner. he is having a conversation with his head of security, Vince DeGarmo.....

Comish: Vinny, i want you to take that black briefcase and deliver it to our boys i had to suspend last week, you know, the boys that called the ARky/Florida game. that should soothe their feathers. they'll be back to work next week.
Vinny: wow boss, that's a lot of money
Comish: yea, unmarked bills, too.
Vinny: who's the brown briefcase for?
Comish: thke that to the fellas that did the LSU/Auburn game. even though they screwed up the Kentucky game last week, they earned it in Baton Rouge.
Vinny: what about our boys that ref.ed the UT/Bama game?
Comish: we're gonna wait a coupla days and make our delivery then, you know, when things blow over a bit.
Vinny: this is getting expensive, boss.
Comish: yea, and it fixin' to get more so. the TV boys want LSU and Florida in Atlanta.
Vinny: hot dog, i'd like to see that myself.
Comish: don't worry vinny, it's as good as in the bag (or briefcase, if you will).

Interesting take. I guess you don't think they would like #1 vs. #2 in the SEC championship game?

no Smiling Tiger, just a shot at humor over the current theme of the SEC officials favoring one team over the other. I don't believe it. Our officials have always been critisized and so have all the other conference refs. It's a tough job, but they don't have time to count the number of flags each team gets much less try to influence a game. In fact, I'll bet they do everything they can not to influence the outcome of the game, they call what they see. I'm sure some will think my stance naive, but the refs i've known over the years take a lot of pride in doing their job as well as they are capable of. I think the idea of an SEC conspiracy is ridiculous.
