Offensive Plays against WVU

What plays do you guys think will work against WV's 3-3-5 defense. Don't just post "Play action to Randle" or "Ridley to the right". Let's see some in depth explanations. I'll start with 2 plays I like against this 3-3-5.
Running Play:
I Formation Pro Left(Tight End on the left)
HB Power Left. Power is when the TE and Tackle leave the end alone. TE gets second level and FB kicks out the end. Getting to the second level quick is important against the 3-3-5, so I think the TE blocking LB's will be more effective than the FB having to make that block.
Passing Play:
Same formation.
Fake HB power left. JJ rolls right after fake. Randle runs a go. TT runs a Post. Peterson runs a deep dig.
Being the son of a defensive coordinator I'm not the best offensive mind, but knowing how defenses work I think both of these plays can be effective because they are simple.

I think this is about as in depth as Crowton's playbook actually is.

Snap out the back of the endzone for a safety to turn the ball over and rely on our defense to score.

First drive we are going to run up the middle, then option to the right, then a rushed throw that is incomplete and way off target, then punt.

Somebody has to have something of value to add to this thread.

Ridley to the right

Option to the short side of the field followed by a single back off tackle running play then a 5 step drop pass completion short of the first down marker or scramble short of the marker. The first two are interchangeable.
Obvious sarcasm.
I strongly believe the offense should start with a no huddle spread utilizing roll out with JJ giving him run/pass options. As soon as there is a break in action to allow WVU a chance to adjust personnel, they should run a wildcat spread option with Shep taking snaps.
The more likely game plan will involve power running utilizing the LSU size advantage.

I like spreading them out and running zone. Getting in double slot, you should only have 6 in the box.
You can also generally formation the shite out of the odd stack putting numbers in your favor for either running or passing purposes.
I also like playactions due to the fact that the 3 inside backers have to be overly aggressive against the run. Playactions, and attack the middle of the field.

Umm...... you do realize that a "power" running play in football is when the backside guard pulls to the designed hole to the play side???
The play you just described is a Zone Lead play where you are running Zone Lt or Zone Rt & you have a lead blocker, thus why it's called Zone Lead. Is that what you meant to describe?

Depending on the depth of the hole players if you are in a 2X2 formation then Bubble Screens and Fast screens, Solid Screens & Jailbreak screens could be there all day. Running straight Zone and Zone Rd off it could really put them in a bind if the OLine can block it. Quick hitting power running plays out of the Pistol into the 3 & 4 holes would be good running plays. Running Mesh, Shallow, and quick game passing plays can kill the 3-3-5 which is what it becomes if you spread the field.
From what I've seen from West Virginia this year they will run a lot of Cover 3 & Cover 1. If we spread the field and they go with Cover 2 then that means they will be running a 3-2 if thats the case then run the ball right at them until the cows come home because if you can't run into a 5 man box then you don't deserve to win anyways.

I've always seen the "power" run described as a down block by the Tackle or TE with someone pulling to kick out usually a guard or an offset away fullback.
So he must have meant a zone lead.

A "power" run in football will always involve a pulling backside guard. Now you can have another lead blocker in a power running play like a motioned TE or FB which is still power but with a lead blocker which is always a safe running play no matter the front.

Power most of the time does involve a pulling guard, but it can be ran without the guard. Some offenses have other terminology in which the definition of power is the pulling guard, but in the most simple way power means to leave the end alone and let the FB or pulling guard kick out the end. Usually the guard will fill the hole and the FB will kick out the end.

We wish. It's more like:
quote:
This is the play. This is the play. kay?
The quarterback. Two receivers lined up to the left, one to the right. There's a flanker lined up to the left behind the quarterback. Okay, he gives the ball... No, he doesn't get the ball. The receiver goes all the way over there to the left. Once the quarterback has the ball, he fakes to the left. No. He fakes to the right. No. He doesn't fake. He thinks about faking. He pretends to fake.
I don't know where I am.
I can't breathe.
This room is getting smaller.
I have to sit down.

I also think FB trap on 1st and 10 or 2nd and 8 situations could get us some nice 6 to 12 yard runs.
