UNC means nothing. He could lose 3 early if team gelled and ran the table the rest of the way, taking gators, gumps, and piss along the way. That would be a successful season.

Only in the eyes of those who worship mediocrity. You like Les because he is what you are...mediocre.

No, it proves my point perfectly. Tennessee and Miami waited too long to fire their national championship coaches, and look where it got them. You seem to think we should repeat their mistakes.

If u want a more detailed summary of my whereabouts for the last few yrs, I can provide that for a small charge of about $100.

Why would anyone need to pay $100 for that? All they have to do is check the papers to see where Les Miles has been showing his face, and they'd know you were just to the rear and about two and half feet down from there.

Oh, come on...we should ride the short bus all the way to the basement before anything is done to curb the buffoon on the bayou.

Anyone with a real football brain and not a homer, will tell you LSU will be 8-4 to 7-5 this year. Its not like this should be a real surprise to anyone really.

We most likely will finsih 3rd or perhaps even 4th in the West.

In your dreams, Nutty.

It proves u r clueless. Schools don't release NC coaches 2, 3, or 4 yrs after the NC and anyone with a brain knows that, but wait---I have a want to forget that u r braindead.

And what Tenn got after his NC was 4 trips to the SEC CG and 10 bowl games.

What Tenn has now, one season after Fulmer, is a coach who never finish higher than 5th in the fricking WAC.

So what Vegas says 3 months before the season starts actually matters? I thought the line is dynamic up until game day. Who gives a crap what they say right now?

Somethings in life are mysteries, Nutty.

Why would u waste your time on a board ranting like a fricking idiot over something u have absolutely no say in or control over?

U can bang on that p/c untill your fingers bleed about Miles and it will mean nothing...NOTHING at all, but u keep doing it, Nutty, that's what people with no real life do. They come under an alias to a board to relentlessly attack a high profile coach who has done more in 5 yrs for a school they claim to care about than they themselves could do in 5 lifetimes.

Not me, but u have have those who never miss a chance to stick that blade in the back of Miles.

Real men and stand up guys that they are.

Tigerdandy, next year in third grade, please be sure to tell the teacher you need some special help with your counting skills. After winning the national championship in 1998, Tennessee made a total of three more trips to the SEC championship game under Fulmer, in 2001, 2004 and 2007, and eight bowl games, in 1999-2004 and 2006-2007.

In reality, Tennessee has been pretty much going to shite ever since they lost the 2001 SEC championship game to LSU. Both of their division titles since then have been in years when the division was somewhat down and they were nowhere near contention for the national championship. They haven't played in a BCS bowl since 1999.

And Tennessee and Miami are learning what a mistake that was.

What they had last season, the first year without Fulmer, was a better record than they had in Fulmer's last year. And yes, it's going to take them a while to rebuild the mess that Fulmer left. Had they not waited so long to get rid of him after he stopped producing, while needless sentimentality about the national championship propped him up through years of mediocrity, they might not have fallen so low.

And, for the record, what they have right now is a coach who took a crippled-up, injury-plagued Louisiana Tech team into Tiger Stadium and put a scare into a ridiculously more talented Les Miles team.

I didn't look it up, Nutty, it was guess from memory and a good one.

I have a life, Nutty, and I knew u don't and u would look it up for us.

A SEC CG game every 3 yrs is going to shite and mediocrity? U r a big time clueless clown.

I would love to continue this and see what other idiot like comments u will make, but I have a life to get back to, Nutty. It's a shame u don't, but u keep working on that GED and if your want is strong enough u might get it.

They had two losing seasons in his last four years. They haven't played in a BCS bowl since 1999. They haven't contended for a national title since 2001. You must have been a big Brady fan.

Fulmer's record took a big hit in his last few years. Tennessee waited too long. Now you want LSU to do the same thing. You are obviously not an LSU fan.

Dandy, there are some real idiots on this board, but you rank among the leaders. I can think of maybe one other Miles supporter who is as stupid as you, but that's about it. Even Choctaw is light years ahead of you in brains.

Not particularly good. My own memory was much better. But then I had the advantage of actually seeing what happened when it did, instead of living in delusion like you.

Barring a major surprise, I would say this is very very realistic. There is nothing to indicate at this point, that the season will be any different than the last two.

Disclaimer. This is not being a "negatiger" for you drama queens. This is a very realistic and calculated opinion based on the last two seasons, the returning staff and returning players.

Roger-

I do believe that this year is going to be vastly different from the past 2 years for really only 1 reason...coaching continuity. IMO (and I am not sold on Miles either way) but I do know that having coaches remain in place each and every year is a HUGE deal in college athletics. Knowing the system, understanding the play calling, the small things that make the differences in close games; all of these things are integral to the success of a football team.

Is that hope, of course, but I think that talent will always overcome and I believe we will be the more talented team in 10 of 12 games this year and very close to the other 2 teams.

I would agree that 8-4 is not going to be met with anything other than pure disappointment.

So I am calling for 10-2...the fact that our 1st 6 opponents all have new QBs will certainly help our record.

Not all "new QB's" are going to struggle as much as our "new QB's." Also, Brantley has experience and I thought TJ Yates played last season as well.

Bama beat Texas with a crappy QB last year, the QB situation is overrated. LSU's QB needs a lot of improvement before its more than a draw. 4-5 losses IS realistic. More, surprise. Less? Pitchforks and torches.
