On October 25, 2003, LSU Tigers football dominated Auburn Tigers football 31–7 in Tiger Stadium. It was a statement win during Nick Saban’s national championship season.
Coaches
Nick Saban (LSU) — building a disciplined, physical team that would soon win it all.
Tommy Tuberville (Auburn) — brought in a talented but inconsistent team.
Key Moments
Auburn tried a pregame stunt, stomping on the LSU logo at midfield. It backfired badly.
LSU’s defense mauled Auburn, allowing virtually nothing on the ground.
QB Matt Mauck led efficient scoring drives and avoided turnovers.
RB Justin Vincent rushed for over 100 yards, setting the tone early.
Auburn kicker missed a PAT after a penalty on the first attempt, and Auburn never recovered momentum.
Tiger Stadium roared the whole night as LSU imposed its will.
What Followed
LSU improved to 8–1 and stayed in the national title hunt.
The defense finished the year ranked No. 1 nationally.
LSU went on to win the 2003 BCS National Championship over Oklahoma Sooners football.
The Auburn rout became a defining “don’t poke the tiger” moment for that championship run.
This October 25 game is still remembered fondly by LSU fans as classic Saban-era dominance.

Probably less good than 2003 unless you like pick sixes

That was December 1, 2001.

Georgia destroyed LSU in Tiger Stadium that day. Lee threw 3 interceptions

Yes, but I’m fairly certain Auburn did that multiple times in TS during the 2000s.

Are you still drunk?
Title has 2008
Talking about Nick Saban who was coach at Bama in 2008. Mentions 2003 game but key moments happened in 2001 game.
Verdict is you are indeed drunk.

Very memorable game.
Two years before Auburn won in Tiger Stadium and Tubberville and the players were smoking cigars on the field.
After this game there was so much cigar smoke in the stands it was causing a fog.
I still get a chuckle out of this every time I see Tubberville giving a speech in congress.
Another memorable moment was when Auburn’s field goal team tried to practice while the Tiger band was performing at halftime and the tuba player ran over them, much to the delight of the crowd.
Ah, the good old days.
