1. Our team came out flat. Was sitting by their tunnel and was amazed to see them walk out flatfooted, listless, heads hanging, etc. All looked hungover except Brooks. That stadium was rocking, they should have been pumped.

2. Jordan Hare was on fire. Every bit as loud as Death Valley. Eagle fly over was cool. LSU talent was in force, represented well.

3. Aub fans were nice, seemed very similar to LSU crowd.

4. Mike the Tiger mascot acts like a tool on the sideline, not funny, not exciting, just ghetto.

5. LSU fans were strong, supportive, energized until the last 3 minutes.

6. JJ was the same, JL had an off day, O line got beat, D actually did well enough to win but had no support from the O. All those 3 and outs in the third killed us. Cam Newton is as good as they say, but with a little more O we'd have overcome that advantage.

We're still not done, we've got a lot to learn from the films the next two weeks.

Agreed. It's nice to get a feel for the environment. How does it compare to BAMA's stadium?

I like it. I felt like our defense was hanging on for dear life, actually keeping us in the game - while the offense was blowing every possible chance. Honestly it felt like last year's Florida game - except we definitely could have won this one with some O... we had no chance of winning that game last year.

Long story short.

I was in the front row of the student section, right by where the team walked out. I also thought they looked a little flat.

I will have to disagree about the crowd environment though. I thought it was pretty weak until towards the end of the game.

They pipe in noise there, so no, they aren't as loud as Death Valley. We don't need to pipe in noise b/c we are and then after we

The auburn fans were very very nice, also I kill JJ on here as much if not more as anyone, but I thought he played a hell of a game, and should have played more in the second half.

The drops absolutely killed us, along with the 3 and outs.

Everyone in the stadium, aside from the people on our side lines, seem to know cam was gonna run it, basically every play. The lack of adjustments were jaw dropping.

Even after all of that though, everyone in my section really though the game had the feeling of a 25-24 LSU win on some BS last minute TD, then Les running out the offense for a 2 point conversion to win the game. Drops, and the 4th down mental lapse killed the hopes of that however.

The 4th down play is just another example of Miles total inability to lead this football team, and to date, may be his worst offense. Totally totally inexcusable.

how could they be that flat? How could they not be pumped up for the game? Did somebody drug the team?

Seriously, how do you not get up for a top ten matchup with a championship on the line?

Have to diaagree about their crowd noise. My ears were ringing, had to shout everything I said the entire game. Tiger Stadium could learn a lot from the Auburn fans. They were actually supporting their 7-0 team and the team could feel it. i haven't had my ears ring after a TS game in long long time and I go to all of them. The crowd wasn't dissing their coaches or players-just totally supportive. Nice to see and made me embarrassed by how we act these days.

the Auburn fans were very nice. Not one negative experience there. Agree that the players were flat from the get-go.

I hope you don't mean by we've you mean Les and Gary. If they haven't learned by game 9 and all of 2009, they never will.

Trent--wow. I didn't know that they piped in crowd noise. If true that is pretty chickenshite. Come to think of it, at one point it seemed surreally loud, maybe that's what I was hearing. There should be a rule about that.

Observations from being at the game

Your observations are all fair. But you must have missed what those of us watching on TV saw as the key element to LSU's doing as well as it did: special teams. Without Jasper and Helton, we get steamrolled. Our superior field position could have produced a win with an above average offense that gave the defense a breather now and again. When the stable-cleaning happens, we need to find a way to hang on to our special teams coaches.

If I had to guess, they might have told the team not to go crazy before the game. We have had cramping issues and they have mentioned before that sometimes people are too amped before the game, especially pp. And didn't he finally finish the game?

1. Stadium was great. Jordan-Hare usually gets overlooked, but it can get loud just like the other SEC venues

2. Defense let the fight come to them so to speak, but that what an offense predicated COMPLETELY on misdirection will do to any defense.

3. Late October and HOT.

4. Defense hung on enough to at least give LSU a chance, however.....

5. Offensive sceme is awful. 10 yards for LSU is such a grind. No semblance of a vertical passing game whatsoever. Big gains come only if the WR can break an initial tackle.

6. AU brought pressure constantly, but we have 0 blitz busters in our sceme (Does LSU have screens or draws in the playbook?)

I'd agree with the OP, except I'd add that even with the noise, I still felt that the men waving Pom Poms was gay as ever.

DadFanAlum, poll the audience.

I'm not sure about Alabama, but Auburn is definitely piping in noise. Bama just plays loud music up until the play clock starts running.
