Rant: speak or shout at length in a wild, impassioned way.
I did not name this forum. I am not miserable but the snowflakes upset at my ranting appear so to me. Where am I wrong? First and goal at the one and the offense goes BACKWARDS! And Nussmeier fumbles. So that performance does not merit the ire of Tiger Nation? You people are funny. Lol

We actually lost 2 fricking yards on a QB sneak. Has that happened ever in the game of football?
That was primarily because of the fumble.

Wait until LSU goes to Tuscaloosa. Wow.

Leverage
It's fundamentals more than mindset. It's technique and blocking scheme. We are still getting out leveraged and are missing blocking assignments where linemen penetrate untouched. I also believe there is a recent reluctance to making practices overly hard, boring, or unenjoyable in our new evolved NIL era. Not enough wax on wax off. As a result, players don't really improve on their fundamentals until the season begins.

I guess all of that is 80% true. Part of,it is the zone blocking scheme. Very different from the drive blocking/run blocking that we learned long ago.

LSU has not gotten a push up front for years. And zone blocking is not designed to get a push. I am far from happy with the run game… but it was better.

Horrendous pad level, piss poor o line coach. Kelly has a track record of developing o lineman but every player on this line is not sec caliber.

Fire Sloan, Flint, and Davis let’s start there

Cole Cubelic did a short segment on the sideline explaining why the oline continues to lose leverage against defensive linemen. Coaching and technique have a lot to do with the OL issues.

How is this even possible when your guards and tackles are all 6'6" and 320 pounds? Weston Davis was getting manhandled by a guy 50 pounds lighter than him. Thompson gets no push at all.
ITS NUSS" FAULT!
Since Kelly arrived, we can't make a yard if the game depended on it, but its Nuss' fault.
Interesting to see how many rushing yards his teams has accumulated, if we subtract Daniels' rushing yards.

One thing you could say about Les Miles teams, despite the offensive woes, is that they were always physical and punished teams. Seems that the defense is there but the O is just soft.

Run blocking is an attitude.
You have to want it. You have to be mean.
Think Kyle Turley mean.
They are getting out leveraged.
No excuse if you are that big ans strong and know the damn snap count to not get push.
I wonder how many of these oline guys came out of high school in a spread offense where they threw the ball all around.

I thought Echols and Davis, particularly Davis, were the weak links.
Echols got blown up a couple of times by Stewart, but he also had 2 or 3 really solid run blocks. One of them was on one of the chunk runs in the 2nd half, along with Moore. But he’s definitely inconsistent. If he can get more consistent in the run game, Echols can still be an upgrade over Mubenga.
Davis is definitely the weak link.

OK I will give you that. However BK is not building? WTF! He brought in Baker and top notch transfer defenders from the portal to transform our defense and boy did he. We are now have maybe the best defense in the SEC. I would call that building. On offense he is still building but sorry Nuss is unfixable and youth on the OL is hurting us. Also Nuss doesn't exactly help the OL play. Your question will probably be why didn't we help the OL with portal players. My answer would be he probably spent the majority of the money on defense. At least Sloan finally got a much deserved break here at TD.

Soft practices lead to soft teams

It isn't. It's good, but nowhere near as overbearing as it should be.

They aren’t playing like it, but most of them ARE SEC level from a talent standpoint.
Case in point- we were battling A&M for Echols and won. People saw him give up some tackles for losses last night and write him off, but do you think their OL is weak? It definitely isn’t this year.
The guys we are targeting in recruiting are also being recruited by programs with consistently good and well-coached OLs. They are not all busts. When there are this many 4 and 5 star guys not playing to potential, coaching is the issue.

Only question that matters is: Will LSU make the playoffs this year? I seriously doubt it.
Posted on 10/12/25 at 11:19 am to White Tiger
We could if Nuss magically transforms or MVB is the answer. Bama and the Aggies have dual threat QB's. We won't win those games unless our defense gets 2 or 3 turnovers in each game and Nuss doesn't screw up the opportunities. That's our only chance in my view. If we had a Marcel Reed or a TY Simpson I believe we might be playing Ohio State for the Natty. Our defense is that good to get us there.

LSU gets the ball deep in SC territory after a fumble and cannot get a first down. They are awful.
