This is LSU football. You hire people because they are great not that they will become great when they'll come to coach at LSU.
O must really "love" Pellini because he hired him away from god damn Youngstown with a 10x salary increase. One old fart loving the other old fart.
I think the problem is school administration here. Here is how much they have paid to the coaches-
1. Les Miles- Agreed to $1.5M payout.
2. Matt Canada- LSU paying him $1.7M.
3. Cam Cameron- not disclosed
4. Pellini- Fundraising initiated by boosters per Vol
God knows if O will be # 5 on that list. LSU has to get their act together.

Coach O is just spewing coach talk. He has to try and show team unity, but he knows Pelini may cost him his job if he doesn't make changes soon. If Coach O doesn't get the ship corrected, he won't be the first coach to win a national championship and be shown the door soon after. I love O, but in the end, coaches are hired to be fired if they can't get the job done!

this is sorta misleading.
Nebraska was paying him up until last year to offset that salary.
Bo could have been somewhere making considerably more than his hometown team if the Nebraska money wasn’t still pouring in.

Everybody wants to cherry pick this one soundbite. If you read the entire quote he clearly understands there’s a serious problem with the defense. Hell, the very next word after what you quoted was “but...”
