I've heard several NFL SMEs say that Nuss is NFL ready. They probably know more than you, or you would not be on a message board and doing what they are doing. I'll take their word and stick with Nuss. Stick with the message board, stop trying to be an evaluator of performance, you're not too good at it. Geaux Tigers!!!!

Maybe this is all pretty simple. The staff is doing that Nuss does best and avoiding what he doesn’t do well.

This is why I’m starting to think it’s not all on Sloan. Easy to blame him when we think we have a Heisman candidate at QB but it’s almost like Nuss has gotten even worse. And he wasn’t even good last year.

I think he’s hurt, no reason for zero vertical passing game either him.

I’m not evaluating anything. Just looking at stats.

I'm curious to know what Nussmeier audibles out of and into.

They took the audibles away from him, at least to some degree, in the 2nd half because UF was baiting him into making changes and then backing out of the look they showed.

The point is 9 and 5 never hurt us in games,

Daniels had two games in 22 where we was so off that completely shut down the passing game. Auburn and Arkansas. Ironically, we won both and he grew from it and he deserves all the credit in the world for how consistently great he was in 2023, but those games still happened. If you want losses, he had a pretty rough outing vs A&M in 22, especially the zone read fumble for 6 that really put us in a hole that we never got out of. The 2nd half of the 23 FSU game was probably his last bad stretch, but the defense was worst than he was.

Joe threw for less than 200 yards and 2 picks in our loss to UF in 2018. That was probably his only poor game, as I don’t think you can fault him for the Bama loss. We just didn’t have the scheme to challenge Bama’s defense in 2018. And he definitely wasn’t at fault at A&M. One game is just one game, but it still happened.

Wrong. Statistics can be misleading. If anything he is better at the intermediate to downfield than he is 12 yards and shorter.

This 100%

He can't throw any corner route and it severely limits the offense. It's baffling with his arm strength with a little touch because he can be under pressure rolling out of the pocket and throw a perfectly accurate ball on a crossing route in the middle.

He's very good throwing in the middle of the field in most situations. Defenses know this so they've been putting a shell defense over the middle and daring him to throw corner boundary touch passes. He can't do it. Tech was a good example. Brown torched 3 defenders on the streak on the outside and Nuss throws it 10 yards behind him for an INT. It's baffling how inaccurate he is on those considering his arm strength. It's like he doesn't see them well or something.

So far in 2025, he’s 1/9 for 23 yards and 1 INT. 5 inaccurate passes.

Does this include the long pass to the TE over the middle last night? I don't know offhand how far it went in the air but it was not a short route and he threw it perfectly.

Well hey cheers to him figuring it out the next few weeks while our defense takes care of business.
Don’t wanna look ahead but it’s clear we can beat everyone on our schedule until Bama.
If he doesn’t figure it out by A&M, I don’t think he ever will.

I agree. IF we ran more downfield passes, our oline would give up many more sacks. that is the reason for the short to very short passing game.

Only 1 is starting in the NFL. The other 3 are either on practice squad or reserve.

Lmao. I was in the stadium last night. He was atrocious. He is nothing like those two. Not even the same species.

It’s the play calling…

Other than the first 15 scripted plays it was doable. The first 15 were so predictable. I knew what they were doing and UF did too

Nuss is probably the best in college football at reading defenses…especially post snap. He did struggle getting the team into the right protections last night.

What do you base this on? Not being a smart arse, genuinely curious, and not sure how you can make such a declarative statement. Do you watch every down of every play of other QB's that might be in the running for this honor?

My impression from watching games and seeing plays develop and seeing Nuss move guys around and check into certain things is the staff may be getting blamed for some things that Nuss changes at the line that don't work.

BK needs to straighten out this offense, so-called.
