Burrow with 5671 in 2019
Straight up video game numbers. That season feels like a dream.

Two of Vandy's TDs in their 38 point "explosion" were the result of defensive, not offensive scores. One an LSU fumble in its own endzone and another a pick-6 served up late by Myles Brennan.
The game was never close and was surely not a "shootout".

What? Outside of week 2 on the road to open at Texas. Point to the game we need the offense to win in a shootout fashion?
Week 1 55-3 win
Week 3 65-14 win
Week 4 66-38 win
Week 5 42-6 win
Week 6 42-24 win
Week 7 36-13 win
Remove the cupcakes and the defense was not good until late in the season.
First 10 games had 3 cupcakes (Georgia Southern, Northwestern St, Utah Stage). In the other seven games, four teams put up at least 37 points (Texas, Alabama, Vandy, Ole Miss) where Burrow had to lead LSU to 40+ to win. Only one of the other seven was held under 20 (MS State). Auburn and Florida were close late, although the defense played well against Auburn.
In the first 7 non-cupcake games, the defense played well in two of them (MS State and Auburn). The only true shootouts would be Texas and Bama but Burrow had to play later in several games than he should have.
The last five games included three top 5 ranked teams and none of them scored over 28. Two of them were held to 10 or less (TAMU and UGA). The defense played really well in all of the last five games.

Old school here....I'd like 250 passing and 200 rushing...be more balanced and run the clock and wear tea s down

Slowwwww down!!! Can we please start one football season without unrealistic expectations for the players?? Can we try and beat Clemson first before we focus on a record setting season? The receivers could be as hyped up as our secondary was last year and we all know how that went. How about we shoot for an 8-4 season. If we do better then great!! Geaux Tiggers!!!!

Just got done watching a 22 min highlight of Nuss last year. Man does that dude know how to throw the ball to a slot WR on a post.
Made some incredible throws all season last year.

Name me another college football team that played against this many starting QB than the 2019 LSU. When looking back people over look the quarterbacks that the 2019 LSU defense had to play against. Here is the list.
List below:
LSU 2019 defense vs Quarterbacks
GASO's Justin Tomlin
UT's Sam Ehlinger
NWST's Shelton Eppler
Vandy's Riley Neal
Utah State's Jordan Love*
Florida's Kyle Trask
MSU's Garret Shrader
Auburn's Bo Nix*
Bama's Tua Tagovailoa*
Ole Miss' John Plumlee
Arkansas' KJ Jefferson
aTm's Kellen Mond
Georgia's Jake Fromm
Oklahoma's Jalen Hurts*
Clemson's Trevor Lawrence*
I see five as starters in the NFL. Maybe the 2019 defense didn't look as good as some past defenses. Has any college defense ever played against 5 future starting NFL quarterbacks in one season? This might be a record. I haven't checked, but how many of those five have made All Pro so far?

Burrow going from 16 TDs in 2018 to 60 in 2019 is insane.

Between him and Burrow, it is wild to truly vision how putrid our QB play was overall between for the previous ten years.
