Nuss needs to slow down, SET HIS FEET, and pass the ball. Run some crossing routes for him and for gods sake the interior lineman need to protect him. I have come to the conclusion that this offense is not designed for a pocket passer. It is pretty obvious now and from Kelly's history it is designed for a quarterback that can get mobile. That is not Nuss. For whatever reason he will not pull the ball and run. OK. Then dont. But set your god damn feet when you are throwing.

This is what we have right now. We just need to deal with it and set him up for the most success he can have and as a result LSU can have. Let him move on to the pros and we can have dual threat QB next year.

If it weren't difficult, he'd be doing it.
Certain habits can't be broken.
Nuss' happy feet.
Hilton jumping for balls that will land in his chest without jumping
Sage and Major sucking.

Playing quarterback in the SEC is not difficult? That's news to me

It’s difficult when you can’t block anybody, refuse to run the ball, don’t have a deep threat and the playcalling is shite.

So you’re saying it’s as “simple“ as setting his feet… but the OL can’t protect him and the offense isn’t designed for a pocket passer.

I think the Oline is regressing. It is not that easy.

It certainly has, due to the absence of Dellinger. The interior OL is getting pushed backwards into the pocket. Used to be just one. Now it's two without Dellinger.

It is his fundamentals. It is like he never learned them. That is what I am talking about difficult. He does not set his feet. There are plays that have been called where he had the option to run and will forever choose not to. That is on him. You can not make him run. Also, our backups are not ready to start in the SEC. So this is what we have. He needs to slow down and set his feet to throw some crossing routes. That will eventually open up the deep pass, not the other way around. Like he tries to do. As far as the Oline I think the interior is a wash. Chester is dog shite. That falls on Brad Davis's head. This is something that needs to be handled in the off season.

He’s going to have trouble setting his feet now that teams have seen they can get pressure up the middle in the A gap with Chester and Mubenga. That’s the worst place for the pressure to come for a pocket passer. Add to that Nuss’s fear of taking a hit anywhere on the field and zero run game to slow the rush down.

It’s a recipe for disaster on offense. Let’s hope our brilliant OC and Davis can at least get our center and guard to step in front of blitzing backers and maybe we can have some semblance of an offense this Sat.

I listened to the Sunday show with Ott, Hanny, and Rohan and this came up. Ott said something about Nuss stepping up in the pocket and Ro got a little animated. He said "You want him to step UP in the pocket when they are brining guys up both A gaps????"

Yep, which I still think falls back on the shoulders of Brad Davis and his lack of coaching the players he has.

He has given no indication that he will improve. None. It is the unpleasant truth but Kelly knows what he’s doing. Getting blown out by the Gumps is part of the long term alignment.

Yep you’re right. What kills me is that there is really nothing working in our offense across the board over the last 6 quarters. It’s inexcusable for a program like LSU to completely fall apart on offense like that in the middle of Nov.

Not designed for pocket passer. Not designed for a running threat. Who is doing the designing?

They couldn't tweak it? You would think a $10M coach (whose system it supposedly is) and his $1.5M OC could adapt a little. Lane Kiffin had Jake Coker one year and Jalen Hurts the next. Goof ball Dabo had Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawerence. Lincoln Reilly has called plays for Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray.
