I personally think you are FOS. While he has a lot of mental/psychological issues, he clearly doesn’t have the zip on the ball, or the ability to throw deep that we’ve seen in the past.

It's been clear to anybody with an IQ above room temperature that Nuss has been hurt all year. Do you not remember what he did last year?

An abdominal injury makes it hard to get Georgie on his throws which is why he threw so many wounded ducks this year. Remember Brennan and how it cost him the season. The difference is Kelly kept downplaying it and sending him out instead of resting him.

It comes across as a guy looking for excuses and if I’m a GM what I’m looking for most in a QB is mental toughness, confidence, and preparation…a leader of a team. He certainly doesn’t give off team leader vibes.

To be fair, he hasn’t said any of that. That was all Brian Kelly. No excuses for his play and whoever gave him advice was hurting him more than anything he could have done. For instance, he should’ve gone into the draft last year.
Strike while the iron is hot. Even if he hadn’t played bad this season, it’s still risky because (think Myles Brennan) it’s always possible to have a career ending injury that would guarantee he would not be drafted or able to play in the NFL

I think Nuss has made a long-term business decision, opting out to heal for the Combine and Pro Days.

That’s the best way to restore to some degree his draft status.

If this is true, good for him. Honestly, I think he’s been getting bad advice all season and maybe going back to the end of last season when he could’ve declared for the draft. He should’ve at least sat out until he had returned to full health rather than reinjuring and picking up more injuries throughout the season, thus potentially playing himself out of the upper rounds and maybe the draft itself unless he “wows” in the pre draft process and workouts

My goodness, you guys are the worst, ascribing horrible takes on his character without even having any real idea who he is

I look at it as he has given the team a chance. Maybe he’s realized that he needs to step aside not only for his health, but also for the good of the team. Otherwise, he wouldn’t even be on the sidelines.

Last year he played really good and everyone acknowledged he had room to grow, but we also needed a defense. To say that he has done very little good is rewriting history based on one season

I don’t know, but I wouldn’t doubt that he might go undrafted. He could potentially at least make a practice squad as an undrafted free agent

You actions and competitiveness speak to who you are as as person.

He wasn't good last year. He put up numbers against bad teams. He did not play well vs good teams.

What actions? He went out there and competed every single week. He didn’t play well most of the time and even seemed out of sync with the coaches, specifically Sloan. Why he went hurt or whatever, whether bad advice, he thought he could, coaches, etc., I’m not going to speculate.
One example, his crying on the sidelines, has been overblown in my opinion. He obviously knows when he plays bad and puts more on himself than some think he does and it upsets him. Maybe he understands what his mistakes mean for the team. I don’t just think the worst of people.
There are other examples, sure. But I’m not one to leap at the worst possible meanings for his behavior.
Perhaps I’m wrong, but I’m not gonna throw him under the bus (pun not intended) or use him as a scapegoat as some do.

I do criticize not whether he is a leader, but rather his method of leadership. He doesn’t spend enough time on the sidelines talking to his teammates, getting in his linemen’s faces, and picking up the team. That’s one very real hang up, but maybe it’s a personal one for me because I played QB for a couple years in college. I was a walk on and never played, but I did start in high school.

Not really. He played well against them for the most part. Maybe not great, but certainly not bad either considering the guys around him. I mean we didn’t have a run game, no interior offensive line, dropped passes (seems like recurring issues, except now the interior line is better and the tackles got worse.
