Filling the 105 man roster took the teeth out of the suit. Continuing to pursue punishment will backfire on SEC and presidents that would vote to expel and expose their actions on the players.

At the end of the day, LSU did not break any rules. Players sued the ncaa and won eligibility. The SEC blocked those players, LSU did not roster these players as SEC wanted. LSU left the door open to roster based on future rulings which is their right and to keep from future lawsuits. SEC threatened expulsion based of possible actions on court rulings. Now find themselves in another lawsuit.

But let’s be honest here, SEC being reactive and not proactive is why we are here today. Sankey couldn’t define a pro player and didn’t know 5/5 ruling. Before June, any player that left school and pursued an nfl career was never allowed back, but ncaa / sec created this grey area. Since there’s a grey area, they threaten to expel LSU. This isn’t action to correct “loss of institutional control” it’s an action to save face by the sec.
