Impressive. Wish more people had that kind of maturity.

Notre Dame players are highly intelligent and disciplined. They don’t have a special academic system just for football and basketball. They have to function in the same world as everyone else in one of the most rigorous academic universities in America.

At LSU Kelly will have a wider variety of player. Some with freakish talent but no academic commitment. Elevating the LSU team to be committed and disciplined will be a huge challenge.

Our last three coaches have won national championships within five years. Let’s hope this trend continues.

I wouldn’t even start to say these guys are “smarter “ than our guys. Academic smarts doesn’t always translate to “ smarts “. These young men on Thai podcast are eloquent no doubt but they are leaders who know there first responsibility is to the team and their reaction will be watched by the rest of the team and the team comes first. That has nothing to do with academic smarts. It has everything to do with the culture created by the staff and the program.

I don’t know how much BK has to do with it. But if he can achieve that here. Tuscaloosa should be worrried.

Kelly will have to learn how to handle all of the players that take a large amount of online classes....or rather deal with those taking the classes for the players.
