you would know they are just finding things that are visible to pick on because they are unhappy with the program.
how about keeping that crap at home or keeping it to yourself? why in the world do lsu fans find it necessary to pay hundreds of dollars, invest entire weekends to sit in a crowd and loudly criticize my alma mater making other people miserable? IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT YOU SEE, STOP FREAKIN WATCHING IT and stop going to games. if you're not going to cheer the team, get the hell out. go find your miserable buddies, sit around a tv and complain all day.

whew. sorry. had to get that off my chest. i'm pasionate about lsu football and it's hard to not take it personally.

This isn't the fan's fault, it's the coaches fault
there is no fault! it is what it is. enjoy it. there are 100+ other teams we're better than.

quote:

they hate where the program is going.
the program is demonstrably trending up. 9 wins are better than 8. we are in a position to have a double digit win season again. 9+ win seasons don't grow on trees in the sec! speaking of context: name the sec coaches over the last 3 decades who have had a better 5 year run than miles.

quote:

Do you not realize that the fans excitement is a direct correlation of the teams performance?
no, it isn't. people are concerned with facial expressions and how miles speaks at press conferences. that's stupid. the team's performance isn't perfect but, no team's performance is perfect. yet, lsu continues to be very successfully in the ultra competitive sec.

that's makes no fricking sense whatsoever in regards to what i said...but im not surprised

What, do you need to be walked through it, step by step?

I'm not surprised...

You said: "it is hard to get excited when you are just gonna see the same ol shite as every other week..."

I'm thinking, it's easy to get excited when I think back on February through August when there is no fricking football at all, and I'm just wishing the season would hurry up and get here.

So when the season's finally here, it's much easier to get excited before each game, knowing that from February through August that's REALLY "just the same ol' shite every other week".

But then, maybe you weren't jonesing for football back in July like I was.

Don't worry, the season will be over in a few short weeks, then you can be happy again.

If we had 7 stickies, the threads on the rant would be reduced to nothing.

The quit bitching thread.
The general bitching thread.
The Les Miles bitching thread.
The Gary Crowton bitching thread.
The players bitching thread. [could just lock this one and leave it up for show]
The bitching about bitching thread.
Predictions on the game and more bitching thread.

If Miles is in Colorado, then yep...if not, then ill go into next season expecting to not beat the top teams in the conference again..have embarrassing coaching blunders and speeches that leave wondering what the frick he just said.

Well the coach took most of the excitement out of the team and ruined the past couple of seasons

ruined? for not going undefeated each season? have you forgotten that we are in the SEC (perhaps the toughest conference in the country)?

But no, I don't really follow other sports - my life doesn't revolve around athletic events.

But when I'm mowing the lawn on a hot July Saturday afternoon, I sometimes think about sitting up in the cheap seats of Tiger Stadium, trying to keep my girl warm with my coat and a pint of Jack - while watching the Tigers win another nailbiter.

If you don't like the product, just don't pay attention to it.

I mean, it's not like your life revolves around football, right?

You cannot honestly tell me you cheer when you see JJ throw a dumb pass and get picked off, or fumble the ball, take a sack, etc...and then see him trot out on the next series. You cannot tell me you get excited when you see us run a draw play on 2nd and 10 or 3rd and long.

So you like this sloppy play and cheer for more?

You do realize if Miles leaves that it will more than likely tear apart one of the best recruiting classes that LSU will see.

When new coaches take over, their first years include install new systems and installing new coaches. 90% of the time, you're looking at 3-5 loss seasons.

Not only do you lose your recruiting class, you're probably looking at another mediocre season. At least with Miles, there's a shot at winning more games with a coach that's been there a while rather than starting from scratch. Just because "this is LSU!!!!" it doesn't mean a coach is going to just step in and start undefeated. It's not going to happen.

Yea, I mean 7-1 fricking sucks! What kind of horrible fan could support a winning team?

I'm excited about games regardless. I think folks who let something like The Rant determine their level of team support during games are weak-willed jellyfish.

Besides, you guys who basically ask everyone to shut-up during the season are the same folks who ask everyone to shut-up after the season and before the season. And you are the same sunshine pumping posi-Miles get-along go-along crowd.

So I'd ask you to shut-up. Or go away and let us be passionate. Drool in your corner and be happy.

I've actually been excited every week for the last couple of years. Here recently, meh.

You guys basically have conceded the season and it's pretty much bled over to everyone else.

then you obviously have a lack of self esteem and individualism. I don't believe I'm the only one who wonders why an individual would let their emotions be determined by exposure to a message board that's entitled the Tiger Rant.

I do enjoy the fact that, as much as the negativity bothers you, you've created a negative thread about the negativity, and it's everybody else's fault that you feel negative or apathetic lol.

Irony: the product of wit vs. idiocy. Congratulations.

I'm ok with this, fwiw. Recruiting classes mean nothing if you can't have them play to their abilities. You need to recruit student athletes to fit your system, not because they're "graded" highly. Ugh. I thought you smarter.

we may lose a few, but i doubt it tears it apart

worth the risk, we are seeing those seasons now on a steady basis anyway

It has nothing to do with being undefeated, i have never expected a undefeated season....EVER. My only expectations are putting a good product on the field. Its about the team looking crisp, playing well, sound coaching, going into a game with the confidence in the guy on the sideline, that he has given the team the absolute best opportunity to win the game and let the best team win.

...and it would probably be the state-grown kids. The worse ones to lose.

I just think now is not the time to get rid of him. Not this year.

Well, I don't think you'll have to worry about it.

If he fires the OC, he'll buy some time as well.
