This was 2 years ago in 2019 at this point when he was still maybe 260-ish range. He's up close to 300 now. He wont have the same problems.

He got mashed last year too. Asking guys to put on 55lbs of muscle is a huge request. 3 star out of IMG who was small for the position. I still think O took him as a favor to IMG.

I want Myles and Max to build rapport with our starting WR corp all year.

Not just the fall.

Not enough plays in a spring game to build a rapport with wr's. That's own their own time. Remember Burrow talking about all the workouts him and the wr's had leading up to the season?

Don't agree with taking away meaningful snaps from the potential starters, Myles and Max, and give them to a true freshman who's time will come later.

Especially when those 2 have each started less than 4 games

It's a glorified practice/scrimmage. The ONLY difference between this and their other scrimmages is they allow the public to attend. It would be one thing if a true freshman who they have no plans of starting was taking away reps every day in practice. But I'm not worried about him getting 1st team reps in the spring game. An extra 5-7 snaps that Brennan or Johnson won't be getting isn't going to make or break their play in the fall. Plus, the coaches have already seen Brennan, Johnson and Finley play in SEC games. The probably want to see what the freshman can do when there is a little more attention on him. Spring is the time to do that.

The spring game is without a doubt the most overrated event (by the fans) of the sports calendar.

Supposedly that is the reason Johnson and Boutte, had such success. When it was evident that Marshall was leaving, Johnson and Boutte began to work out on their own time to make that connection.

It's the spring game. A measuring stick and fan fodder. Those snaps aren't particularly any more meaningful than scrimmages.

I don’t believe anything O says anymore with regards to these things. Until I see otherwise I still believe Cam Wire and Marlon Martinez are the top backups. There hasn’t been enough full contact practices and scrimmages yet for them to know the true pecking order of the OL. Wire was solid at whatever position they threw him in at last year and was arguably better than Rosenthal at times. Charles Turner was downright awful against Mizzou in his lone start which is why we saw Martinez the rest of the year and not Turner.

Noticed O never mentioned anything about RB's, I think this is our weakest position on the offense.
