Wah Wah. May not be fair (and I don't disagree), however, make a strong case for any team other than Bama. Oklahoma St? Lost to a very mediocre Iowa St team. Stanford?? Got their asses waxed at home to a pretty solid Oregon team. Virginia Tech??? Got handled at home to a good Clemson team. Boise or Houston? I refuse to talk about them when it comes to big boy football. Bama? Lost to the best team in the country at home barely. I know they didn't win their conference but if we lose to Arkansas, we aren't going to want to use the same argument we currently use against Bama. What is killing me is we are acting scared of Alabama. We beat them in Tuscaloosa. We can beat them in New Orleans. Doesn't mean we will but if we are the best team in the country (and I believe we are), we don't need to be afraid of anyone. At the end of the day, I can't find an argument for any other team to play against us assuming we win out. And unfortunately, we gotta play someone if we get there. Just my opinion.

I see what you mean. I'm not saying they'd plug in an awesome team but I would think them leaning toward a rematch would be the last option. I think if Okie State beats OU in 2 weeks, they go. Computers have loved the Big 12 this season.

I mean, freaking UCONN went to a BCS game last year and they were mediocre at best. Granted, that wasn't the BCSNG but some times the match ups don't make sense.

Stanford isn't going to win the Pac-12, they have zero chance of jumping Alabama.

Exactly. At some point, the fact that we beat them already can't matter. If they are clearly the most deserving opponent, they should get to play us. It sucks, but it's infinitely better than putting a non-deserving team in just to avoid a rematch.

True, it's gotten pretty wild the last couple of weeks.

Today's poll does not support your theory

I see both sides of the argument, but I still don't like it. We beat them at their place already. If they beat us by some odd chance at a neutral site ( ) then why should they get the NC?

I do see your point though, they may very well be the most deserving team.

2 more weeks of the regular season left. I really feel they would take a team we haven't played and put them in there before they grant a rematch.

Stanford, Okie State..... this isn't my "theory" as you put it. I've heard this in 2 different places.

One was on Hanagriff's show and the other was here, at the top of the page in lsumatt's thread. He knows his stuff with all these algorithms and stuff on how it's determined. Go look for yourself.

Oh, believe me, I don't like it either.

The thought of us having a better record than them, that we would be SEC champions and them not, and be 1-1 against them with our win being on the road and them being crowned National Champions is sickening. But oh, well. That's the system.

you realize that Oklahoma St can jump to #3 if Arkansas and Virginia Tech lose right?

I'm not saying Okie St is going to be in the BCSCG.. but it's LSU, Alabama, Arkansas, Okie St, or Virginia Tech at this point.

Okie St fans will be pulling hard for LSU this coming week.

It's really sad that Alabama is getting rewarded for losing at home. I do realize as long as LSU wins out it won't be a problem but it just doesn't seem right to have to beat a tough arse team twice to be considered the best when they only have to do it once. This just seems wrong. Oregon would have been different, they did lose away from home to LSU.

I thought the coaches would see a double OT and drop OK St no lower than 4- OK St will have to dismantle Ok if they have any change of jumping anybody-

Now VA TECH would be interesting and I could see the humans taking a second look at them

Y'all are looking at this wrong. They wouldn't be rewarded for losing at home, they would be rewarded for being the 2nd best team in the nation.

It really isn't fair at all and I understand completely why y'all would be pissed if we do in fact get a rematch in New Orleans. I discussed this scenario with my dad before the LSU-Bama game about how mad we'd be if we beat y'all and then had to face you again for the national championship game. I guess we've turned out lucky that this scenario has worked out for us since we lost.

It would make more sense for LSU to have gotten a rematch if they lost, because the game was on the road at Bama. The fact that the game was AT Bama should remove them from consideration.

I just serioiusly have a feeling that if LSU and OSU win their remaining games, the human voters will put OSU in over Bama. There was lots of talk about this in 2007 with UGA and people remember the 2001 title debacle with Nebraska getting in and the 2006 UF game.

As much as people want to claim the SEC is so amazing, its not this season. It's top heavy and then crap outside of the top 3. The Big 12-2 is actually statistically the best conference, so I could see them claiming OSU deserves a shot.

Not fair but it is what it is...could have been the other way around. Winning solves everything.

Ya, seems kinda shitty. But if LSU can pull out 3 more victories... woah Nellie!

Course the talking heads will still downplay it... but 14-0 with this schedule will be an unbelievable accomplishment.

Watch the ACC vs SEC matchups this wekeend. If they win 3/4, VT may have an argument (if they get by Virginia and Clemson).

Life ain't fair.

Goes both ways.

If we play Bama again, in the Dome, and win another 9-6 game, LSU will get all the credit for years even though it was two tight games.

And if we lose, the only thing anyone will ever remember about this season 5+ years from now is that Alabama won the national championship, despite going 1-1 against us.

It just vexes me to no end that Bama fans are already purchasing NC tickets and hotel rooms in NOLA.
