Not that Mainieri ever had a whole lot of fire, but it’s sad watching him out there

Not saying that he isn’t passionate about the game or anything of the sort, but this motherfricker looks totally disinterested out there.

One of the things that’s always rubbed me the wrong way concerning him is that he’s never really looked like he really has gotten in his players asses for the lack of focus and energy that we see from his teams or gone out of the dugout and gave the ump an earful. Or really gotten fired up about anything. Obviously, we can’t know what goes on in practice or when there’s no cameras around, but it sure as frick doesn’t look like any fires are getting lit in between ballgames either. I just wish for once I’d see him act like August Garrido out there or Bobby Cox. Show a little bit of fire under your arse, Paul.

I know his dad died and I am empathetic about that as I don’t know what I’ll do when my dad dies, and I’m not saying for him to get over it; but damnit, he’s got a fricking job to do. I know the connection him and his dad had together with baseball, but it’s Paul’s job to coach baseball, and he looks like he’d rather be anywhere else than in the dugout.

When do you ever see a Head Baseball coach “getting into a players arse”? This isn’t football I’ve seen Paul chew the umps out plenty. Call him a bad coach but the whole he doesn’t yell at his players this is bs.

In my opinion, he looks uninterested when we are getting crushed because he can’t do anything about it. If you don’t have quality pitching than you are at the other team and umps mercy. CPM can’t trot out Labas, Hill, or Henry so he has to go to plan D. All of our pitchers from last season and Eric Walker have regressed. Not having a quality catcher is on him but the quality pitching of guys we depended on last year coupled with these injuries are ridiculous. It is an excuse for him but I blame Alan Dunn and our players more.

Some of these guys are going to defend CPM no matter what they see with their own eyes. They can't be persuaded by reality or actual results. They will spout how LSU did it back in_____.
Or,sometimes just make stuff up.

They way he sits in the dugout rubs a lot of people the wrong way. It’s like he doesn’t even care. It has turned into a Miles situation. STALE and something needs to change cause it doesn’t seem to be looking up for the future. Next year is gonna suck.

The beatings will continue until the morale improves. I have never really understood these people who think that everything will get better when the boss starts screaming at people.

I’ve never been a fan of his style, but it’s worked so far until now. I think he’s always let umps get away with shite where other coaches won’t.

It’s like a religious devotion with some people.

My dad died, my mother died, multiple siblings died and I got up and went to work after each and every one. Dying is part of living and if he can’t deal with that then he needs to go sell flowers.

I don’t think Dunn has done a good job either and he certainly deserves some blame. But Paul is responsible for the culture around the program and it’s slid very very noticeably in recent years. 2017 notwithstanding.
