I'm not a sunshine pumper

And if we had lost Aranda I would have been seriously depressed.

But being that he is here for at least another year, or two. . . the defense is going to get better because we will have more DLs which is main reason MSU & Troy ran all over us. Especially MSU. Young LBs-lots of natural ability; will be OK with Aranda's coaching.
Secondary-losing some studs but continuing to bring in great talent, especially if Surtain signs. Defense -Check
Offense- running back-suspect at this time:hold that thought
OL-depends on Clapp; if he returns we are golden. Without him, Cushinberry needs to grow up and FR need to continue to progress. Either way I think we will be OK.
F/TE/FB- lots of talent
WR- loads of physical ability but weak on route running and ability to get off press man coverage. Coaches know that and will be working on that in offseason, especially when we get a real WR coach.
Now the main issue - QB
If we had a QB who could make all the throws WITH accuracy, 2017 season would have been totally different. Wins over Troy & Notre Dame, and possibly Alabama. MSU game would have been much closer, but being shorthanded at DL would have allowed them to win unless we could have beat them in a shootout.
Pro style or spread - I don't care. Just run/pass 50/50. Throw it all over the field with accuracy. Don't rely on the long ball as your only hope for big pass plays (this year). Throw the hell out of slants, posts, drags, rub the hell out of DBs, and every now and then send Drake Davis deep. Brennan, Narcisse, New Guy #12. I don't care. Just go through the progressions & throw it to the open guy where we can catch it. And we will all be happy (well, most of us-some of you a**holes will never be happy) with lots of W's and finally beat the Crimson Sludge again.
Not an endorsement for any coach** Just tired of boring and inefficient offenses and inaccurate QBs.

Probably 25-30 schools out there that have such a talent. Ole Miss has/had two of them. I would take Ta'amu.
