I'm getting a little sick of seeing every O-Blower talk about the experience these guys have. Yea, they've been football coaches for a long time. That's great. I've hired engineers who've been engineers for a long time, but they still sucked. I've hired young engineers with damn near no experience that blew their elders out of the water.

Point is, experience is NOT an indication of qualification or of future performance. Any person in management will tell you that performance outweighs experience any day of the week. We now have 2 of the 3 most important people in the locker room who have FAILED at their respective positions in the past and you jackasses think their experience makes them good hires? Come on.

Who is Noone? Never heard of him. In fact, no one has.

Is this a post to let us know you’re like a HR dude for an engineering firm? Or perhaps, someone with an even bigger title?

I’m not sure you are making your point. So if experience is not an indicator for success, why would ine’s past bad experience at a completely different job environment be an indicator for failure at their present job environment?

I’m not a fan of this hire—nor am I necessarily a fan of the SE promotion, but if these two failed I am certainly glad they failed elsewhere. Perhaps they did learn a thing or two along the way. Time will tell.

The gamble that Joe A made (besides financial) was if O succeeds he will be here until he retires. I also think that is the same gamble O made with SE. Stability and success are somewhat intertwined.

Have you never failed? Never been fired? Make a comeback did you? Two of Ensmingers firings came as whole-staff firings which is very common in the coaching field.
