No number should have ever been removed from circulation in football

We have 105 spots available on the team. We already have to duplicate some numbers to get to that total.
There are a finite number of jersey numbers out there. Furthermore, there are a very limited number of jerseys out there that actually look good.
The whole number retirement thing is incredibly stupid and shortsighted. You eventually run out of numbers as time goes on. Put a statue up and hang the player’s jersey up in the stadium, but DO NOT retire the numbers. There’s plenty of ways to honor players besides taking their numbers out of circulation.
It is my opinion that 5, 9, and 20 should all be put back in circulation and issued to players on the current team. No more number retirement BS. Florida issued 15 to Graham Mertz and to a punter, and neither Tim Tebow nor anyone else cared about it.

Names should be remembered in college football, not jersey retirement.

LSU should just issue number 9 and a formal announcement that we don't retire numbers that they will discuss retiring "jersey's" similar to NFL model 7 years removed from the program.
