Most of these lists are compiled from years performance. Almost always won by upperclassman deservedly or not. DW will be on top of all defensive lists preseason next year .

The only way this shite is possible is if the award is only for Juniors and Seniors but the title says Best College Football Linebacker . Not best Upper classman linebacker

Always thought it was kind of weird to throw 3-4 edge rushers on the Butkus list. They are basically the equivalent to a 4-3 rush end, just stand up instead of having hand in ground. All semantics really.

That list is littered with 3-4 edge rushers though.

Not shocked to see 2 Alabama linebackers on there, neither of which have much in the way of impressive stats.

Evans = 26 tackles, 6.0 TFL, 3.0 sacks, 1 PBU, 1 FF
Hamilton = 37 tackles, 5.5 TFL, 2.0 sacks, 1 PBU, 1 FF

Compare that to White = 80 tackles, 7.5 TFL, 2.5 sacks, 3 PBU. Heck Corey Thompson has 25 tackles, 5.0 TFL, and 4 sacks.
