Yeah. The SEC and ACC negotiated a deal that guarantees their top 2 teams not in the NCAAT get in and get a home game.

Remember that time Johnny Jones declined an NIT bid with the team that had Simmons, et al? Many posters called that a weak move and a "quitter's mentality". Keep in mind that team lost by almost 40 to Texas A&M in the SEC Tournament. That season needed to end.

And once, there was an uproar when Nikki Fargas, of all people, declined an NIT bid. People bitched and moaned for 10 years about how much money women's basketball was losing, yet thought LSU should throw more money in the incinerator by going to the WNIT. "Quitters" was a term used to refer to this.

Will be interesting to see how those people would feel if LSU declines a bid this year.

Interesting. So it looks like 14 SEC teams will make the NCAA. So both SC and LSU are guaranteed NIT bids
