i'm confused as well. i undersatnd rolling out the new 'lightweight' uniform technology..but i hope that doesn't mean we have to stick with some graphic artist's idea at nike about how 'cool' team uniforms should look.

i'm pretty sure its a one game thing. Nike even gave the teams mottos, LSU's is french for "pig roast"

So they're unveiling the uniforms today, but I've got all the images out in advance of that HERE. I also found how they describe the uniform and whatnot.
Interestingly, the helmet image they are showing (this is from an official Nike media site) isn't the gold of Washington that's seen in the full uniform images; close to if not exactly our current color with the current logo. I'll be interested to see what they actually roll out today - good if they don't let them change the helmet, but would be a really odd color scheme if teamed with the other purple and gold in the uniform itself.

Seems to me like someone from LSU should have had some input on this. If this is the best we could do, someone needs an arse kicking for this.

The odd thing is that everything leading up to the unveil indicates the Washington gold helmet. But the helmet the guy is wearing in the full-uniform shot doesn't seem to have the helmet logo on it ... then the t-shirt appears that shows the Washington gold helmet with the helmet logo ... then what Nike is showing in their official media materials (unless I've gone colorblind) is clearly not the Washington gold helmet.
In one of their description documents they show the helmet I have with the description "The LSU helmet was designed with a deep gold tone, a nod to the Golden Boot trophy ..." But they're not showing a deep gold-tone helmet.

Errrrrrrr...by "major rival" they mean Arky's Adidas for our Nike. Arky's about our fifth biggest rival...in the West.
That being said, the unis don't bother me. They're pretty underwhelming and plain, but I kind of like an alternate uni every now and again.
