ronnie haliburton was quoted in todays alex town talk "we'll definatley be eeady for next week" IMO having a (b) plan in case of ike should be main priority in terms of playing football.

I dont think we will have a game next week either to be honest, but when we do finally get a home game with no bull crap happening, u better believe we will be out full force!

That's an excellent point. There are a couple of suspicious looking thunderstorms in the Atlantic Ocean that we might want to consider postponing our remaining schedule for also.

My first hope is that the game will be played next weekend in TS. If that is not possible, then I think administration has time to put it at an alternative site - I think reliant stadium in H-town would be great. LSU gets a hell of a lot of support from there, and it would be a great way to return the favor and showcase our talent to the locals. I think it would be a near sellout. KC.

I get it.

Read the quote in the first post. The reasoning for the game being in jeopardy was about electricity.

quote:

With crews scattered around the greater Baton Rouge area trying to restore power, there’s no guarantee LSU’s campus will get immediate attention.

“My biggest concern is to make sure the stadium is ready to go next weekend,” Alleva said. “And we’re going to make sure it is, but that’s still a concern. We have to get contractors in here, and obviously contractors are very busy. We have to make sure we get the stadium safe for next weekend.”

The justification has nothing to do with police presence.

quote:

The issue is taking the state/city/parish/campus police/EMS and other workers away from what they're doing in an area that is barely functioning and use them to provide the necessary traffic and security for up to 90,000 fans to attend a football game.

If this is such a big issue why are the Saints hosting a game this week?

The game is scheduled for 9 days from now and there is plenty of time to get things done and be ready for the game.

Reading it, I don't think it is about electricity. That is the journalist talking, and he probably misunderstood. Look at Alleva's actual quote...since when elctrical work is doen by "contractors."

He has got to be talking about the window, fence, and other damage done to tiger stadium itself.

There is absolutely no way LSU cancels classes for next week too.

if we need the game, why can't we move it somewhere else close where there may be a stadium available - having an away game before Auburn may help get those away jitters out. Make a deal with someone for a stadium that fits both teams.

I am sure that is what they will do if it comes to it.

But the more I am reading this, the I think this is just a journalist stirring shite.

Even Alleva says that they will likely be ready for next week.

The LSU campus will have full power in about 40-60 minutes.

So much about concerns about Entergy being able to spare crews for LSU.

fricking inflammatory journalists.
