AL is in. Nobody is jumping over AL in the BCS. Just not going to happen.

We just need to get over it.

Satan gets a 2nd chance to break his losing streak to Miles. The Hat gets his chance at a 3rd straight win over Satan.

So what happens if VT wins big and OK state wins?

Looks like that number is actually about 5% per a later twitter from Nicole Auerbach

quote:

The Crimson Tide were picked No. 2 on 56 of 59 coaches ballots.

Whatever the number, if I look at the poll (and exclude Boise and Houston based on conference strength) I see basically exactly what I would put if I was just looking at the records. 12 win team, then 11 win teams, 10-1 teams, 10-2 teams, etc. So looking at it that way, I see how we need OSU to be 11-1 after next weekend, and VT to be 10-2, right?

I understand that voters can't get past OSU losing when they were 3 TD favorites, but hell VT actually DID lose by 3 TDs. At least OSU went into OT.

Virginia Tech vaulting over Bama is very unlikely. They've only beaten one ranked team (Georgia Tech) and lost to Clemson. Even beating Clemson in a rematch won't help their chances despite the fact that VT has beaten eight bowl eligible teams.

Oklahoma State vaulting over Bama is much more likely if they beat Oklahoma. They've beaten more ranked teams and have played in arguably the best conference in the country according to the computers.

OSU is sitting behind AL, VT, and Stanford.

THink that a big win over a 2 loss OK team gets them in over an AL team that has close to identical scores over common teams as LSU, who they lost to in OT? An OSU team that choked against Iowa State in the last month of the season?

Unless it is a pure "do not want a rematch" vote by the coaches, AL is the team that should play against LSU.

I think that if okie state beats oklahoma and va tech loses to clemson, there's a good shot that okie state can get enough votes to pass bama in the bcs

Ok State getting hosed in the coaches. They would put up over 50 on both Stanford and VT.

Would be nice to see but are the coaches really going to vote that way just to avoid a rematch?

It all gets down to avoiding a rematch against a team that did not win its division and lost at home.

OSU will need basically a little more than 25% of the second place vote and the rest 3rd place vote to jump bama.

It is still shite LSU played a much harder schedule, an extra game, and beat bama on the road yet they might have a rematch with bama.

I also think it would be different if it wasn't Saban and Bama at #2.

OSU's coach and Pickens should start lobbying for their team. They are one up on Bama since they are undefeated in regular time and first OT, their loss is on the road and they were under emotional distress.

It sucks Big Time.

We make a couple bad plays in that game and we could get fricked out of the BCCNC crystal.

OSU has a big jump to make.

Would be fun to beat down on Beamer and VT .............
