I think when Jay said that about the catcher position he had never seen one as bad at the plate as Milazzo is.

Jay used Milazzos name. Its not like he was talking about catcher's in general. He said if Milazzo was healthy he'd be the starter.

Priester sat 7-8 months only hitting of tees, pitching machine and some soft toss. It will take time to get his timing back.
